The poor manner was all right. I miss it. I t should have been the Karmann
Giah and It would have been the smash hit it deserved to be. This car fell
ill to the wrong company at the wrong time.
Porsche 914 "fake" commercial. Porsche 914 vintage pictures and Porsche 914 vintage videos, mixed with new shots. Vintage looking video. I edited this video ...
It was like that about five years ago but they are going up fast. Look on classiccars.com, a lot in the teens, some in the 20's, one or two in the 30k range. There are many buys below 10k but not in amazing shape.
2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb Porsche 914 CRASH!!
A Porsche 914 crashing shorty after the starting line at the 2013 Pikes Peak International hill climb. Amazingly the driver walked away and nobody was injured.
he kicked the car as if the 914 was at fault..its mid engine,it handles
like its on rails.....he hit a rock, has nothing to do with the 914,it was
his driving.
+SmokinJoe347There is a huge difference between a 911 and a 914 Porsche. The 914 in this video is a mid engined car. It has never been nor will it even be known for snap over steer. 911 are known for snap over steer, under very specific conditions. They dont just snap over steer for no reason. Watch a few experienced drivers, they can tell you exactly what conditions cause it. Normally, its caused by letting off the throttle mid turn. Those that dont know what they are doing in a 911 will claim they just swing ass, but its because they dont know what they are doing.
+SgtSeth: I'm sorry but I disagree for this reason, yes you can make "ANY" rear-wheel drive car kick it's arse out if you try hard enough! Porsche's do it on the slightest whiff of throttle imaginable, because all the weight is on it's arse-end, there is no warning like you get with some cars. Some cars really talk to their driver & the driver can tell when they're on the limit, Porsche's aren't like that as one minute , you're going where you should be & the next minute you're going through a hedge backwards from little or no error. That's just my opinion & of course I will respect your differing opinion, I certainly have no wish to fall out about it :)
I dont consider those cars to be tail happy. One can make almost any rear wheel drive car, with excessive horsepower, kick its tail end out. Look at Corvettes, Camaros, Nissan 380s, hell even 4cy 240s can be tail happy given the right amount of throttle at the right time.
+SgtSeth You said "Mid Engined cars are not know for being tail happy" so by your logic, all those Ferrari's & rear wheel drive Lamborghini's that turn themselves round on the slightest whiff of throttle are all figments of my imagination then. Do they not have the Engine in front of the rear wheels so therefore being Mid-Engined but we can argue untill we're blue in the face, we have different opinions but hey-ho that's how it goes & that's fine with me.We do however totally agree that he simply expected too much from the tyres & they let him down unsurprisingly :-)
+SmokinJoe347Mid Engined cars are not know for being tail happy. 911 are known for being tail happy because they are REAR ENGINED. Meaning the engine is behind the rear wheels. The 914 is an extremely stable car due to the engine being low mounted and and it being midship. This guy just carried too much speed for its traction and didnt know it until it was too late. Its not the 914s fault, it is his.
+ passi magpieThe 914 is also a mid-engined car so I'm failing to see your point?Porsche, untill quite recently didn't do "front engined" cars untill the 924 - 928 - 944 - 968!Just sayin'..............
Mid-engined cars don't handle all that well actually, far from "being on rails" Porsche's are notoriously "tail happy" at the best of times and one's with big power even more so.......just sayin'.
