I worked as a cashier in a grocery store and got yelled at everyday over
the prices or because there was tax on something. I don't determine that
and the idiots who shopped there apparently didn't understand that. This is
what caused me to quit before I did break
+MidNightMoon It was the incompetence of management that got me to quit before I snapped and insulted them to their faces. Well that and the foul nasty people that generally tend to infest walmart
Asking the management to tell a bunch of dangerous bikers, who don't care
that there are a dozen police officers standing around, to scram off, is
the same as asking the management to put their lives on the line. We cannot
reasonably expect the management to be able to do that; I'm sure they were
freaking terrified (who wouldn't?). This was definitely a job for the cops
to do. Which, apparently, even they sucked at.
two stories of dealing with costumer service
one: the woman and the chicken
two: the woman who claims being deaf is no excuses for not hearing
This woman once came up to ask for some chicken. we had chicken
tenders, chicken strips, and chicken wings. its a bingo hall and she wanted
to get back to her game she says "give me the chicken". we asked "which one
and would you like any dips?" she said "i dont know the chicken here(drops
the money on the counter) i got to go give me my number. and a coke too."
the cash she gave us was enough to cover all the different types of chicken
and a coke. so we thought how about tenders. we brought out the tenders to
her a bit later she bites into them then says "this isn't what i ordered, I
wanted the ones with the bones in it." "you mean chicken wings ma'am?" "yes
take this back" "no ma'am we are sorry you didn't know the name of the
order you wanted. we are not mind readers." and an argument continued. i
don't remember if we gave into her demands. it was a while back and
wouldn't surprise me if we did.
story number two: we had a deaf server. her job was just to take the orders to the numbers. that's it. she was mostly deaf. you had to speak loudly and exaggerate your mouth for her to understand or even hear a little bit. so if you were behind her she would not know you were even saying anything. now the kitchen had been really busy so we apologized for taking too long. but when the deaf woman took out the order she left the order and the dressing then took the number and the tray she took a few steps away and the woman started calling here back because the order was wrong. she marches up after the bingo game was done to tell us the order was wrong and she was so mad the woman didn't come back and just ignored her. our cashier "I'm sorry ma'am the woman is deaf she probably didn't hear you when she walked away. and i-" the woman then says "that's no excuse!" we were all kinda silent for a sec.
