Leafs are going to have a bunch of players at the 2016 World Juniors, Marner is a lock for the top line, Dermott was also invited to Canada's camp. Nylander, Engvall, Timashov, Lindgren for Sweden, Bracco and Joshua for the US, Korostelev for Russia and of course Kapanen for Finland. Next year Leafs are pretty much assured another top 5 pick who could be one of Matthews, Chychrun, Puljujärvi. Light at the end of the tunnel in the first real rebuild of the Leafs I can remember. Leafs fans should be thrilled with this pick in any other draft without McDavid and Eichel, Marner would be the #1 pick.

+F Dannn Agreed that we should be thrilled with getting Marner. No prospect is ever a "lock" to succeed, but I love his work ethic, skill and attitude. I think the kid COULD be a dynamite player one day. And if he grows one more inch and adds twenty pounds of muscle, his size will be just fine. Can't wait to watch him develop.

+Son Goku a lot of the highlights that are in that video are single handed efforts on his part, and that's not even including his playmaking abilities. the kid can pass the puck through anything.

+Dolph the Dolphin Honestly, If Leafs are bad again next year, and get the chance to draft Auston Matthews then I agree, we will have our own Kane-Toews, maybe even Better for the next decade, and probably will write in the history book. But getting Babcock, and the media, fans scrutiny I don't know if Leafs willing to be that "bad" again. Life is like that, you see it, but lots of external factors force you not to do it.

+DaEverything1 You need Toews to make Patrick Kane, THE Patrick Kane. Blackhawks win because of Kane+Toews, if you just have Kane or even adding Teravainen, you might have decent team but will never contend. Leafs still lack that Big Center.
