Well this test did not go to great with the motor up front. Lost a couple MPH, I really cant move the motor up and down when in shallow water (easily), and I have ...
+Danny Tavarez - haha, thanks! I did however end up selling this boat, got ripped off on a center console and then purchased a Lowe Stinger. Its been awhile since I posted anything, maybe I will post something today.
Looks like it worked out ok. I just got a motor for mine. I think I'll try
rear mount out first before I cut any holes. I wonder if weight
distribution is making your boat angle oddly.
+byron0802 Yeah it worked out okay. There was one major issue and that was being able to tilt the motor when I needed to so I didn't scrap bottom. I guess the engineers really know what they are doing. I am trying to make a better mount now and I will post how that goes. The problem with the stock mount is that I was also nervous about punching through the plastic by tightening it down to hard. I purchased Great Stuff to re-install the original steer controls (Be good as new). The core where I put the trolling motor is Styrofoam. Let me know if you figure anything out with yours.
