there are two ways. you get them from dismantling exotics, and you can buy them from Xur for 7 strange coins a pop.

+glenn hughes You need to have on no faction class pieces in order to get crucible points!!! If you say have fwc on the rep will go to that instead of crucible!!

Can someone tell me how much XP 5 motes of light gives? I have over 300 motes and to me they're useless since Xur sells the exotic engrams for Strange Coins now... and I don't need to level up my weapons/armour instantly.

if you still need help it gives 100xp per 5 motes so around 75 motes to rank up ur faction quite useful cause I have a lot of motes lying around better than using up heavy synth

5 motes of light give you 100 xp, 2 strange coins can be traded in for 1 mote. Naturally with strange coins and heavy ammo, you'll get 75 xp per strange coin. To get a little over that amount of xp, you'll need to trade in 10 times what you need to. Do NOT trade for motes of light!

I've had the game since day 1, have 3 34's, and a little less than 1000 hours. I have 900 strange coins in my vault. Xûr never brought/brings anything good so they just collect dust in my vault.
