Fuckin sliding pocket doors, can't get the stupid thing back on the roller WITHOUT taking the casing apart. What a stupid piece of shit, a door is so simple.

+spelunkerdI'd need very long needle-nose pliers and the dexterity of a Ukrainian female acrobat. Not sure if it will work, it is definitely forth a try before dismantling woodwork, in a place that I rent.... sigh...

+CoonShoot It came off with the casing on, so there should be a solution. If you haven't already tried doing it this way, put the rollers onto the track first, then bolt them to the door after the rollers are in their track. Needle nose pliers may get you close without needing to remove the casing. Those bolts that adjust door height may allow you to drop the door down a little, giving better access to the locknuts that hold the door on.

Can you come over my house?? ;p My daughter somehow got a soft-cover book in the door pocket and now the door doesn't shut all the way. I hate to think that we have to take out a panel...hubby is not very handy :( Any idea how else we can get it out??

+Shirly Skolnick You might bend a coat hanger into a shape that allows you to snag it and fish it out. Patience, a good light, and a little luck is all you need. Some of these doors will lift off the track and slide out without removing casings, but you may need to take casings off.

would have been nice to see you take the door off/on the rollers.

+Doug Starkey Most of the time you can just lift the door up and off. If the casing is in the way, you need to remove that first. Occasionally to get more free movement you might need to loosen the retaining nut on each little car to give the door enough room to lift the little car of the rail. The explanation may seem complicated but once you have a close look it will be simple.

I like the helpful hints such as using Silicone Spray to help the doors slide better and the red duct vapor barrier tape to seal caulk tube that has left over. Thank you for the video it is very helpful.

+Linda Rivera Instead of the tape I've always used a wood screw, lasts many months and there's always one around the workbench

This was great, thank you!! One tip for saving your caulk though -- I would suggest using Glad Press 'n' Seal wrap instead of the duct tape. It seals & holds really well, easy to apply, and much easier to remove! Plus it won't gunk up the nozzle and you could even reuse it. :)

+spelunkerd Glad Press 'n' Seal is completely different from average saran wrap. It is designed to stick to itself and also most smooth surfaces and seals very well and although it is not completely impermeable to gas it has kept many of my caulks, paints, liquid nails, etc. from drying out for months and longer. Give it a try, I've found hundreds of uses in the shop, more than I've found in the kitchen.ALSO, great video and very helpful, great focus on those key points to avoid damage and additional headaches.

+Melissa Thanks for dropping by! I agree, duct tape wouldn't be a good choice; I've tried that before and it's too porous to vapor and the caulk dries out. The red tape I used is a unique and very expensive specialty tape designed to meet building code requirements for vapor barriers in home construction. It's completely impermeable to gas, and it sticks like nothing else, forever. I wouldn't suggest buying that tape for this single purpose. I have it on hand because of other home construction projects. As you say, wrap might work almost as well if you can get it to stick over the long term. I can tell you that in the past when I've tried saran wrap, it eventually lost it's stick and the caulk dried out.
