Bowater's - Tesco - Gillingham - Turn Right Towards Rainham from Hoath Way
At the roundabout ahead I'd like you to turn right towards Rainham, thats your 3rd exit Feel free to download my home made map, its not to scale but you might ...
@bamushan1 You can use the centre or the right lane for the Rainham exit.
Although the middle lane is the safer option. The right lane can be used if
the centre's blocked or you want to overtake a slower moving vehicles
@AppleTreeification Good question; some say you should signal right and
change to a left signal as you would on a normal roundabout, and others say
a right signal might cause someone to hesitate from passing on your right
as it looks like you want to change lanes. I've had one examiner give a
driver fault for giving a right signal, and another for not giving a right
signal. But most of them seem happy with no signals...
yes you can, but you must move over to the centre lane as you pass the exit
towards the M2, this is where you hear the horns sounding as vehicles using
the centre lane don't move over to the left. If only they would paint a few
extra white lines to guide people over it would save so much trouble..
@LE55ONS Thankyou for the reply...I also asked my driving instructor who
said to signal right then left as you would on a normal roundabout. If the
examiner decided to give a fault for this would this result in a fail do
you know or just a minor?
okay but as you were entering the roundabout can you also use the most
right hand lane you were taking the middle lane as i saw in the video when
you entered.

@chrizse Sorry to hear that, until the council put white lines down to
guide people into the correct lane it will keep happening, I just don't
understand why its so hard to put a few extra lines down, it would solve
most problems. Most students spend 10 to 20 hours practising this
roundabout from different directions. Was your fault going ahead towards
Twydall from Hoath Way? I've been practising that with my students and a
couple would have committed a dangerous fault if I hadn't taken action..
@LE55ONS We went from the test centre towards Twydall and I managed to get
into the wrong lane, and it was so busy on the roundabout I somehow managed
to get into the inside lane as opposed to the outside and as I was trying
to move off a bus was blocking me in as I was trying to move off. Most
annoying thing is, that the roundabout is right by the test centre and you
may be unlucky enough to go straight on it within the first few minutes of
your test, when the nerves are shaking anyway!
@barrowboy6 MSM does still apply but not to this particular roundabout
(more like an interchange) as it could be misleading. If you were to have a
right signal on while on this route, a vehicle behind in the right lane
might hesitate thinking you want to move over. After a meeting with a
senior DSA examiner it was decided only a left signal could be given on the
exit, although if you watch the route from Courteney Road to Rainham you'll
see I recommend a right signal for part of it...
Its a shame people do not understand that coming from Rainham direction the
3 lanes are Tesco and M2 the second is M2and Gillingham and the third
Gillingham and Twydall. When in the middle lane and you pass the M2 exit
you move over into Gillingham lane 1 not force the second lane over to
Twydall. This stops the two lanes flowing over the roundabout to
Gillingham. The time's you hear the horns going, and as always the ones in
the wrong don't realise that actually they are...wrong!
I remember when I did my lessons 3 years ago, my driving instructor always
told me, when using this roundabout to remember: Middle, Middle, Left. Once
you remember that it's easy. He also said: Amber Glow, Get Ready To Go, not
just in referance to your lights, but the other traffic lights that are
just about to stop. And not forgetting: Second Gear Before You Steer, in
referance to slowing down to turn corners, or pulling away from lights etc
to turn a corner.
Even in this video the Peugeot in lane 3 at the start cuts accross to go in
to Tesco and could of caused a crash. I have emailed Medway Council
pointing out the road signs and markings are incorrect and they agreed and
said they would be put correct during the March roadworks. New lane
markings and signs now in, guess what they are still wrong!!! Medway
Council you are Crap. Get out your offices, stop pretending you are a City
and get some proper work done.
@chrizse I'm sure the examiners are fed up with this roundabout. After a
meeting with the senior examiner he said 'if your in the wrong lane we
can't fail you for going the wrong way, although if its safe it would be
nice to see them move into the correct lane. Best rule of thumb 'if your in
the wrong lane, go the way that lane is marked for'. Good luck on your next
one..
I'll keep that one in mind and hopefully the roundabout will be less
daunting at some point... but it is quire a horror when it's busy and you
are in the wrong lane. Anyway, maybe the council will sort it at some
point! Thanks a million for the uploads and the handy map of the roundabout
though, it's brilliant!
THANK YOU! This explains why drivers have such poor signal (indicator)
discipline at roundabouts. Not once was instruction or guidance given on
signaling. What happened to the mantra which my instructor drummed into me
50 years ago, MIRROR, SIGNAL, MANOUVRE? Does it not apply these days?
@Timber0wolf I have similar sayings for my students; 'Amber light, clutch
to bite, green glow off you go', 'change gear before you steer' and 'when a
pause becomes a wait, the handbrake becomes your mate' :-) Its nice to
know I'm not the only one to use these little sayings..
Hope you will do a video of that part of the roundabout, perhaps you could
also send it to the retards that put the lane marking's down. Although the
only way to get some of the stupid people that use the rounadabout to
understand would be to colour code the lanes.
Now going to have lessons just to concentrate on getting that roundabout
right... So annoying, had it not been for that, I'd have passed with a
brilliant score. I'll happily avoid this roundabout in future life, shame I
can't say that to the testing person :)
I remember learning this roundabout's behaviour after going around it once
and paying attention to the road markings. I came to think each exit
'eating' the outside lane and thus sucking you a lane closer to the
outside. (except Courtney Road)
As a new driver has been taught not to drift over or change lanes at all
other roundabouts, this goes against those teachings. I've had people with
20 years driving experience find it hard to accept you must change lanes
halfway round.
I could've done with this video when I did my bike test 10 years ago!
Excellent and very informative, well done. I shall show my son this when
starts driving lessons again.

Thanks! Great tutorial! my phone was damaged by water a year ago, tried to
dry it from the outside, and eventually gave up so i left it in a drawer
for a year and today i decided to give it one last try; i followed your
instructions, took it apart, cleaned everything with a can of compressed
air,(from a pc cleaning kit) put it back together and now it works just
fine....not sure how long the battery is going to last though
Hi thank you for your video! How would I go about replacing or fixing the
power button as well as the volume down button? They've stopped working and
I'm unable to lock, switch on/off the phone nor reboot it. The screen also
goes black when I'm on a call (which is normal) but when I am done with the
call and try hang up or use the screen I'm unable to; unless the other
person hangs up & I can then get access to the home screen via activating
the camera. What could be the cause of this? The proximity sensor?
Hey carol, I am experiencing the same problems as you. To solve when your screen stays black during a call, put your left thumb over the left half of the screen at the top, line your thumb horizontally with where 'Nokia' is written. Now squeeze the screen with your thumb. I find that this makes the screen appear while on a call. I can then use my right hand to put on speaker, hang up or press other buttons. With regards to buttons not workng, I am still trying to solve it myself. This video is helping though.
Hi, thank you for your amazing video! I managed to disassemble the lumia
800 until the part where hot air is needed to make the glue melt. I tried
using a hairdryer as suggested by you in your other videos but couldn't
make the glue melt. Just wondering if there are any other ways I could get
the glue to melt in order to remove the last few parts of the phone?
Hi, thanks for the reply. May I know whether you heated the case from inside or outside? Cause I'm afraid that high heat may cause damage to the components still attached inside the case. Oh, also after the glue melts, does the sound piece detach itself or do I still need to apply some force to remove it? Thanks again!
The glue is very strong and I had to use lots of heat to release the parts, you'll have to keep trying. I used gloves and a fan heater to do this one..
