If you get bored, just skip ahead. The function of the lamp is nothing special. Color changing with IR remote control. I just like the re-purposing aspect of it.
IKEA floor lamp HID conversion
This is an old vid, I scrapped that gearbox and just whacked the choke, ignitor and PFC into an aluminium project box by itself. Works well and doesn't get too ...
Nice light. I wonder if you could get an E40 fitting into that. That would
open up a whole new series of lights to choose from, including those fancy
new extremely warm white, high colour rendering "city white" series.

Synthetic voice is terrible, as many have pointed out, but the ideas really
rock! We actually have an Ikea about 20mins drive away from us, so we tend
to go there often. I will have to have a closer look next time, and see
what I could possibly make the furniture or items into, instead of just
objects in their own right. Very interesting! Don't be afraid to use your
own voice though. Just sound excited and passionate about what you're
talking about, and no one will care what you sound like, lol! Just make
like you're reading a story book to a bunch of kids. Kinda the same thing,
really, lol! We all just want to be entertained. So, put on your best
reading voice and go for it! :)
+steps4living I didn't mind it until I heard the speaker say "sewer" at the segment that begins at 2:30 (pronouncing it sue-er. Definition: artificial conduit, usually underground, for carrying off waste water and refuse, as in a town or city. ) instead of "sewer" (pronounced sow-er)... one who sews!
+Chase Hinshaw I would love to do this as a project; is you don't mind releasing the code that would be amazing for a noob like me. Could I replace the sensor with the push button to conserve costs? I'm not sure how much drastically the code will change but I was thinking like every time the button gets pressed it changes to it's max position with the servo motor. Then pressing it again put's it at the minimum. Just some thoughts of what I'm going to try to do. Well done!
Sure! Gimme the holidays to organize my code and I'll post a DL link to everything I have
