@KrankieV2 My Buick probably has the same radio harness plug as that car,
and probably uses the same installation kit as yours. I think the jackass
who installed the stereo in the Dakota probably connected the memory wire
to the cigarette lighter circuit which only has power with the key turned
on.
The biggest thing to remember when installing car stereos is checking to
see if they hold their memory after the key is turned off, and back on.
Whoever installed the stereo in my Dakota did a fucked up job in that
department, and i could never preset stations.
@craig1974 with the way this radio is wired, the ignition power wire does
nothing but switch the radio. in other words, if the "memory" power wire
wasn't properly connected, this radio would not work AT ALL!
@KrankieV2 The people who i bought the truck from i dont think were
mechanically inclined, so they probably had it professionally installed
which can be an epic fail depending on whos installing the stereo.
The radio has nothing to do with the door chime in this car. I bought the
wiring adapter so I would not have to cut up the car's wiring, so the
original radio could be easily reinstalled if I ever chose to.
What the FUCK is that radio ..... Where did you get it? Back in 1996 ?
JESUS !!!
And yeah, you gotta remove all the dash to acces the radio in a 1995-2005
Cavalier.
+Angel Morales The only thing you should know is the dimensions of your dashboard, make sure your car has the right space for a 2DIN unit, and check if you have a deep space for a Car PC. Then please check the dimension of our Car PCs and select the best that suit your needs:Car PC GEN4 & A4 = 4” Height 7” Width 8 1/4" DepthCar PC Small edition = 4” Height 7” Width 6 3/4" DepthRemember to consider some space for cables, but if your car has available 9 1/2"deep to install a 2DIN Radio then you can go with GEN4 or A4 model, if not maybe you should go with Small Edition. Considere to check out well all our versions, since we have some barebones units and those units does not come with CPU, RAM nor SSD.Unfortunately we don’t have a database of depth measurements behind the dashboard for each vehicle. We understand it's a hard work to remove your current stereo and measure the space, but this is the best way to know the exact measurement of your Dashboard. If the Car PC does not fit in your dashboard, you can select the out of dash version, this unit has the screen separate from the chassis and you can place the chassis somewhere else, you just need to wire from the Car PC to the screen on your dashboard, and the battery as well.If you have any further questions, please contact us at any time again.Best Regards.
+Nao H Our Car PCs are compatible with resistance steering wheel controls. We use a Joycon EX that converts resistance-output steering wheel remote controllers into a USB HID keyboard and HID remote controller. This device is connected internally by USB and, we optimze the internal connections to the harness of your Car PC.
Great stuff!
But...
There is a problem
For 300$ in todays world you can get a tablet that can do all this and more
And for 2000$
You can have way more with a bigger screen
Just sayin'
+relikvija Except that tablet is not as fast, doesn't have proper navigation, no amp, no FM radio, wouldn't properly fit in a 2din space... The list goes on.Just sayin'
It looks pretty nice, but the problem is: Do I want Windows on my car
computer? It might get infected by a virus, and for purposes like these, in
my opinion a Tablet/Smartphone OS is much more useful.
+Julian J. Are you kidding me? How would it get a virus? Unless you download stupid things you can't just get a virus. A smartphone/Tablet OS will still get infected if you do stupid things, so that does not matter.
Does it play MKV file format and vídeos or films in HD 1080P? Can I to
Install app of the manufacturer my cell phone for control it and make call
in the screen of the CAR PC?
The specs of this PC without any modification will playback 1080P no problem. You can definitely play MKV formatted videos because this is a computer. Installing VLC Media Player or Classic Media Player would be two examples of software that would do this with no problem.
Please follow the link under the date of publication of this video, there you can buy any of our Car PCs, if you have any further questions also you can write to [email protected].

Wow, this video definitely addressed my main concern, which was the boot
time. Thing was ready quicker than my friends flip up screen radio can even
open. Now I really want one of these. Sure windows isn't the best for a
radio interface but here's the key, it's a computer, windows is fairly
open, you can just even make an app for your own interface if you want to!
This doesn't seem like a thing for a person who just wants a simple radio,
this seems like it's designed for a person maybe like me, who wants to have
a radio with many options and things to mess with to get it to work exactly
how you want it to. Plus it's a fun thing to mess with when I'm stuck
waiting in the car for someone.
sooo can it only play shitty music? how about obd features? engine
management, diagnostics, I threw a dell windows 98 computer in my car over
10 years ago and you are basically doing the same thing I could do.
+Andy Payne Yes, you can use a Bluetooth OBDII, that is fine, but if you pair your phone as well at the same time, maybe you can loose the communication with one of your devices, so the best way to avoid errors is an OBDII via USB and you are free to pair your phone or any other devices without troubles.
+E3iO Custom Computers Why limit yourself man? You can use any bluetooth obdII adapter (got mine for $11 //www.amazon.com/Panlong-Bluetooth-Scanner-Reader-Android/dp/B00PJPHEBO/ref=pd_sim_263_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=0TA9CZWPME4PN6J1HG8K)...it just looks like a com port so the device options are much bigger than obdlink sx. I think yall should hit me up cause I've been doing car pc for about 15 years now.
+kalanzi solomon +kalanzi solomon We offer our CarPCs with the OBDLink SX, this device will quickly and accurately diagnose engine problems and provide real-time engine data. You can use your E3iO Car PC as a diagnostic system for your Car. OBDLink SX is the basic plug-and-play scan tool designed for the budget-minded do-it-yourself mechanic. Also we offer DashCommand™ Software, this is a touch screen friendly software application that is designed to integrate OBD-II data monitoring and logging into the in-car computing experience. Use DashCommand's capabilities to create and display stunning virtual dashboards with many styles including digital gauges, analog gauges, indicator lights, and more! the dashboards look great on any screen size, large or small.
+kalanzi solomon its not there. I had to write my own software to interface the obd port w my computer but now it tracks my gas level, speed, error codes, anything you can do through obd.If you thinks they could sell this let me know and maybe we can make something happen.
+Andy Payne We are not showing that the Car PC can play music, what we are showing is how is the response of the system with multiple application opened at the same time, and also the performance of the Car PC.
