Cambridge Friends is a sacred place. Seeing this video reminds me of tears
of joy experienced the day I spent observing the activities there.
Bittersweetened though as I wondered... what must we do so every kid in
America (every child on Earth) can have this quality of schooling? I don't
know that much about teaching children, I do know some of it is about
money, but most of it is about technique, intention, and engagement. So
here's to Chris and every other teacher whose designing our future.
I am so pleased to see that Chris is getting this recognition. His cotton
curriculum is really extraordinary, and I wish more teachers took this kind
of creative, innovative approach towards teaching math and history. In his
classroom, everything is interconnected: math, history, statistics,
science, all intertwined through the complex relationship we Americans have
with the cotton plant. Bravo, Chris!
