The redesigned Mazda6 tries hard to get noticed, with sleek styling, a super-efficient engine, and dynamic handling. A diesel will be available, rare for a ...
I wanted to give everyone feedback because I have owned this car for over 1
year and already have close to 30k miles on it. I still enjoy the car and
wouldn't have bought anything else; I did test drive a brand new Accord,
Optima, Legacy, and a few others when looking for a car. The wind noise
does have a TSB fix and to me the issue is much better, but this is no
luxury style quiet car. With the radio on, at a normal playing level, I
can not hear any wind noise. The OEM tires are not that great, I need to
replace them, and they hinder the road noise. The ride to me is fun, not
harsh and not too stiff. Even after one year it still feels about the same
as when I bought them, minus the tire tread which plays a major impact on
the feel of any car. However, it still handles sharp turns, bounces, and
curvy roads like a CHAMP. I still I'm getting a net average of 34, but
that 80/20 city/hwy. When I'm driving highway I normally get 39+ easily
and I drive spiritedly. I have the manual transmission Touring, the gear
box is still tight and the shifting is easy-I did add a weighted knob for a
more crisp shift. Being 6'4" I find the leg room is more than enough and
if I had AT I would have even more leg room. The seats are good as well,
my only wish is that the lumbar support would be higher, but I'm a tall
guy. My biggest complaint is the head unit, radio box. It is outdated and
when you use the USB it starts at the frist song every time you restart the
car. The bluetooth works fine and I have never had a problem with that.
Yet, the SMS-text messaging, DOES NOT work with all phones and all the time
with the phones it does work. However, if you are looking into buying a
new Mazda 6 you may want to wait a few more months as there is a complete
refresh with an entirely new Head Unit, the same one as the Mazda 3.

+Matt Runals Hmm I'll definitely take note and see the points when I test drive it in several months. My birthday is in 6 months too. Been driving an old 2000 camry v6 (still great but way too old looking for a young guy). I was looking at the Kia and Sonata because of its style as well. The kia looks more refined and luxurious and I think it looks better from afar than the Mazda at least from what I see in the videos. It has a more distinguished look. That's one thing. But it also seems that the Kia doesn't have as good mileage. Not too knowledgeable with cars so I'll have to find a forum and get some help on it. Been browsing KBB and other sites for awhile. I'm going to get an automatic for the Mazda if I get it. I sort of want a nice luxury-like car for the family when we go out to fancier places, budget in mind (below 25k).
Where i live you see plenty of fusions, accords, camerys, and optimas, but that is my area I guess. The 6 suspension is tight and hugs curves, even with the stock tires. There is very little sway when turning and accelerating during turns is very doable. I know exactly where my tires are going, I didn't have that confidence when drive the kia. I also test drove a used kia to see how the steering felt with added miles and it felt too light weight. Can't describe it but the Kia's shocks just seemed soft to me. The turbo one I drove had too much delay at WOT, if I want a turbo iwa want to go...not wait a second and then pounce. The mazda is planted on the road and the engine accerlates nicely. I have a manual and to test this engine I tried to accerlate in 6th gear but only going 40mph and the engine responded very well for being under power. The perky engine and the suspension makes the car fun to drive. Also, know I can run this car as hard as I want and still get great mpg is another fun fact. I jave been asked if my car us a jag or other very expensive cars because of the body stlye. If you can't buy for 6 months than wait and see the brand new mazda 6. It has a new exterior and new inside along with a new radio system.
+Matt Runals What makes it so exciting that the optima doesn't have? Have you tried the optima turbo? I've yet to test drive anything since it'll be about 6 months before I can buy anything. I also wanted the Kia because I don't see them too often too. I see TONS of sonatas and all the rest (mercedes hondas etc).
Well the angles do give a different perspective but to me the Kia always looks boring from the side. The biggest thing about this car is that even though they sell very well there are not a ton on the road and so they are rare then any other sedan. I test drove a new optima and I felt like the suspension was really squshy. I still get excited to drive my 6
Hope they make a v6 or turbo soon, not sure when.So now it's either this or Sonata or Kia Optima. I'm just not sure anymore. I'm saving up like crazy to finally buy a new car and I don't know which to get. I'm getting mix feelings about the looks of this car. Sometimes I see it in the videos and it looks rather boring. I was planning to get a 2014 black sonata 2.0 black (full metal grill at the front) but I'm a young guy so I'm not sure.
Car looks nothing like a family car. It has a clear undertone of a douche
bag car. But those douches probably rather buy a second hand BMW, AUDI or
some other luxury-ish car to let their douchiness come out in full glory.
It's also a stiff car to drive. Stiff suspension. That's not family like
either.
+A Freethinker i was driving on the road one time this camry and a bmw were racing lol the camry got the upper hand and then i see this charger honking at the bmw for a race. Bmw lost to a charger and everybody on the street look more at the charger lol rich ppl think they own the road. lol
I don't agree one bit. why?. While i drive a older honda accord, I also don't make fun of people who can afford a higher priced used cars... 1st what does those cars you mentioned ,being used have any more Validity at all with your statement? So if them being a used car makes them what you named them to be.. Then what should the name of the person be who is a single parent at a low income job who buys a used ford festiva.. I guess their pieces of crap as well.. ? So lets rehash , people who can afford a higher end car that leans on the side of luxury & buys it used are bad people in your eyes.. Your Entitlement you've been taught all your life tells you this.. They must meet youon your level or risk being put into a classification that you need to put people in so to make yourself feel better at the end of the day..? If i could afford a bmw new or Used , or any of the other higher end cars, guess what... i must be doing something right ! maybe some day , i can move up in the world, and then i can pull up to your window as you super size my fries...
We drove one and although I fully support your opinion about douchbags driving secondhand luxury vehicles to show the compensate their pee pee, I didnt think a mazda would ever be "cool" enough for douches however, I found the ride firm but not rough
2014 Dodge Dart Review | Consumer Reports
The Dodge Dart is a compact sedan that offers three different engine choices. How does it stack up in this competitive segment? Watch more sedan videos: ...
I just bought a 2.0 Dart. Having driven a Subaru WRX for six years plus a
dozen rental cars, most of which I wasn't impressed with, I can say that I
am very happy with this car. I'm with a lot of other people here; too many
opinions. I found the seats very comfortable and I don't notice any blond
spots. I like the solid feel and my fuel economy is quite good. It handles
exceptionally well. So I don't know what their grudge is? And as for having
to get down low to get into the car... It's a compact you idiot, stop
crying. But I found that most consumer reports on cars are total BS
anyways.
Almost every sedan on the road has thick A pillars and an intruding roofline. Aerodynamic requirements demand a steeply raked windshield and rollover regulations result in those absurdly thick pillars throughout the car. From my experience I can't say that the competition is particularly far ahead of Dart. They all have some failing or other.
