Some drunk dude backed his van into my friends C6 left rear quarter panel. It's a good thing my friend does body work for a living, he repaired it himself.

is there a bracket behind the panel? Someone backed into mine too and made
a dent on the panel right where there bumper and panel meet. Was wondering
if there was some sort of brcket i would need to buy or if how to get the
dent out of the bumper

Couldn't tell you if there is a bracket behind there or not, my friend did the work. But I do know that heat guns do wonders with the bumper material when it comes to pushing dents out.

1. It wasn`t big demage, better to do metal work. (2hr job)
2. With spot welder is going faster.
3. The glue costs cca $40
4. You took off the quarter panel easy what about next time?
5. Between new and old panel you will get mark like scratch after
shrinking of
body filler later body filler will brake because it is flexible.
6. Must be some reason why factory is welding.

that is the factory BMW recommended method to replace the quarter panel. They are probably a certified BMW repair facility and because of that they do all repairs to BMW standards. They have engineers that come up with the safest and best all around repair methods for these vehicles. they know their shit.
