Hey there! I really enjoyed seeing your answers for this tag! Great video!
I'm curious about The Last Apprentice (the one with the badass lady
character). I am always interested in fantasy stories with strong female
characters. :)
+Emily Cait (CreativeAndOriginalTitle) thanks again for tagging me, about the last apprentice, I'm not sure if you hear of the movie the seven son with Ben Barnes and Julianne Moore, well, that one was the "adaptacion" of these books, to be honest the movie was bad, terribly bad, they changed lots of important things starting with the main charater Tom (Ben Barnes) being a 13 yo boy. The story is about a man who dedicates his life to hunt witches and boggarts and other spooky things, the person dedicated to this must be the seven son of a seven son, and a lot of things happen, the devil is brought to our world and the spook and his apprentice must stop him, that's the general idea, I made a video with more details about it if you want to check it out.
This film was annoyingly self important. How the hell did they get money
for this thing? I try to be sensitive to ppl's creations. But this was
dismal. Self important nonsense. F-
For those of you who see this on Netflix right now and are thinking "I love
end of the world movies, should I watch this!?!?" ....No, no you shouldn't.
It's bad.
You know very well you weren't trying to present "just an opinion", and the moment I got to the "open minded" and "my friend" facade, I lost all interest...
+Manuel Vazquez Guy, it's okay that you're at the point where you're more of defending yourself rather than the movie (or at least for the sake of sanity, you should be), but I wouldn't try to pass off people behaving as they did during the status quo (ie. getting high in the hot tub and focusing on their decades old problems) is the movie showing how "human behavior always comes in a strange ways". It's a soap opera that suckered people in with a premise it didn't even focus on or even require for it's quote-on-quote "story".
You know what we weren't expecting? Wife swapping and getting high in a hot tub during the end of the world. No real person would be doing that so it's not the kind of stuff people 'see themselves in the actors' in a situation like this. It's just how UNnatural and soap-opera-like the movie is, especially since it's all about the characters, that takes people out and into a third party perspective (ie. it doesn't pull you into the experience) meaning this isn't even a study of 'human behavior' but a study of bad writing...and that's at best.If people wanted to see adultery, jealously, and other absurd personal problems taking priority over survival in an end-of-the-world setting, "The Walking Dead" already did that with its second season...and it was FAR from being considered "a point of view of human behavior"...
Heed ^this comment. The trailer makes the movie out to be more suspenseful and survival orientated than it actually is, and if you see the trailer...you'll know that's not saying much, so what do you think that means the movie is going to be like? Do you think there's any action you'll be missing? Oh no, no, no. All that's in the trailer is all there is. What's left? Two words: soap opera...
