you can recommend bathing in disinfectant. ie. sodium hypochlorite/bleach.....I'm not sure how much to add to a tub full of water...1/4 to 1/2 a cup maybe...and whatever the correct mix is, people should be told to used it to sponge down anyone they are caring for that has a fever...so, if your taking care of your mom and sponging her down, use disinfectant solution...it won't cure the disease , but it may prevent you from catching it as well....that said, what does your friend think of whole blood transfusions from survivors? the theory developed by the doctors attending the 1995 outbreak is that if a patient/known ebola case is given a whole blood transfusion from a survivor, (someone that has recovered from the disease), the antibodies will boost the immune response and the patient being treated will survive...it is very risky because it exposes the patient to any blood born disease the donor has, but if you only have a 35% chance of surviving without a transfusion, people may request the transfusion treatment.... there are only 2 known cases of transfusion therapy and both survived.. the death rate of the 1995 outbreak was 90%but the patient sample was so low that an accurate efficacy percentage could not be attained...is there any word on the efficacy of the transfusion therapy?

This contradicts everything else they are telling you. 1 Casual contact is defined as a) being within approximately 3 feet (1 meter) or within the room or care area for a prolonged period of time (e.g., healthcare personnel, household members) while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment (i.e., droplet and contact precautions–see Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations); or b) having direct brief contact (e.g., shaking hands) with an EVD case while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment (i.e., droplet and contact precautions–see Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations). I'm not discounting your end point, but the fact that diseases with a continuous presence and known existence for thousands of years killed more people over the last 10 years then Ebola is not really a proof for anything. Ebola was only discovered fairly recently, its only had a handful of outbreaks, and this one would appear to the start of the worst in history. Therefore historical numbers of other illnesses are sort of irrelevant.

Great job buddy. Still waiting for more data to develop before I can fully call it a nonissue. Not saying I believe it is a real outbreak, just need to wait and see what is going to take place in next couple weeks.
