Russia's ban on western food products, in response to sanctions from the EU may deal a nearly 7 billion euro blow to the European Union every year.

okay so E.U. will be hit hard ... What about Russian food shortage in
there country......??......I'm sure it will hurt Russia also ... But as
long there is vodka they will be alright ........... I'm sure the Russian
leaders are okay they get what they want it's always the other people who
suffer so America can buy the extra food I'm sure we as American's will
pay higher price's But American's can afford... Ask Obama's who just
ordered 17 billion to fix our Veterans hospital's and 3.70.billion for our
borders we will take extra food America will help E.U. out cause it's
America who made the sanctions...Well If Russia does not back down they
will starve... Well what's the answer let Russia invade other
countries..............????

All the USA shills have been telling us how poor and third world Russia is.
Yet they had the money to support EU agriculture. Now President Putin is
bringing EU agriculture to it`s knees. The EU could try selling this
surplus food to the Congo or South Sudan, they have plenty of money and
plenty of hungry mouths.

Russia is still underdeveloped and chaotic. Virtually nothing has changed since the era of Brezhnev. Europe has not sold that many agriculture products to Russia, anyway.

Congo or South Sudan would hardly afford to buy them at Russian prices, and the difference in transportation costs makes your suggestion completely unfeasible.

Russians get NO fruit no cheese no chocolate no beer no meat ect but they
are winning. I am sorry but the average Russian is probably pissed at the
fact that he cant get the food that he wants. I know i would be. Its all
nice to swear at the US and the EU when u are living there but go to Russia
and see what's happening to the people before declaring that the sanctions
ONLY hurt the EU

I live in Russia and I don't see anything happening in particular. In fact, I don't remember the last time I ate imported meat or chocolate. Although, decent cheese lovers must be pissed off, so it's probably good that cheese is bad for me (although I used to gobble the Old Dutch Master). Alcohol imports weren't banned: you've got to keep the nation nice and drunk haven't you?

Other countries can supply all you mentioned, they are not exclusive EU products.

Cigarette taxes by and large hurt the poor in a big way. A recent study by
"RTI international into the effectiveness of New York’s hefty cigarette tax
found that the state’s low-income smokers spend 25 percent of their income
on cigarettes". Support small US business and not pay 1/4 of your income
for having a different vice than the cheeseburgers and whiskey those fat
ass politicians enjoy but aren't taxed for by checking out companies like
AAA Tobacco. My wife and I save over $1,910/year.
