Connor Shaw is better on and off the field. Pettine should be more worried
about him on the field because he looked like a little shrimp out there
lol. Weak arm, too small and couldn't even see over the OL.
They used alot of rollouts for him in the preseason and it seemed like it would be a good thing in the regular season. Since on a stretch play everybody basically runs in the same direction to block for the running back. They just need to simply attach the rollout every time so it looks the same. Then the defense has to either commit to the running back by sending more bodies or commit to the QB by leaving bodies for the QB. With this basic concept they can have read and react plays or more structured play action passes and basic runs.
+deuschristiamor Luke Kuechly destroyed him. It was an awful play call. It could have been much worst for him actually. That's why I think he has bulk up before even thinking about option or blocking schemes for scrambling.
+LiveWireRed B. If they would go back to a stretch offense using alot of PA Rollouts and using their Running backs more I think that would give him the structure but he needs to focus on his decision making and finding the open man. The rollouts I think will be the only avenue for designed run scenarios depending on how the defense reacts. I wouldnt rely on him if he had to do option plays maybe in college but not in this league.Certainly no more "QB sweeps" like the one that got him injured. My god that was an awful play call.
