+Rob Ash Oh, and yes 'Tonto' National Forest is actually named for the Tonto Basin, a large area where multiple indian tribes resided as far back as a thousand years ago. The word 'tonto' in Spanish means a fool, or a foolish person. Historians believe that some of the aggressive nomadic tribes which evolved to be Apaches were part of a group that then inhabited the Tonto Basin. Since none of the early American Indian history was recorded other than word of mouth it is difficult to pin it down, but those same historians believe that an ancient form of the word 'tonto' was used to describe that early Apache tribe but meant something more along the lines of 'mindless' or 'crazy' which would fit with many of the more docile tribes' descriptions of Apaches over the ages.That being said, the general area is referred to as the Tonto Basin, and once the area was secured as a national forest, Theodore Roosevelt named it the Tonto National Forest. One has to believe in today's climate of heightened sensitivities it would never have been named such, but there it is.

For the first time I'm starting to think YouTube is showing the video as I had it on my computer, which is a huge jump.Indeed, knowing you have the loving support of your family is a good thing. It alleviates the guilt I may have about taking a solo trip. It is exceptional how much they want things for me sometimes. An incredible and awesome little family :-)Couldn't help being a kid, mate! The views are just so expansive and breathtaking, I really enjoyed this ride.Yup! Small displacement motors are really nice! Although, I'll be updating the mileage again and climbing hills and riding through the switchbacks knocks it back quite a bit. This mileage came from mostly level grade and under 70mph most of the time.Thanks for the comments mate B-)
