the matrix is a good quality car and with the money they spent could prob get them a base model of a more expensive car with not even 1/4 of what they put in the car.

Even worn crank bearings can make big end bearings do this by lowering oil pressure. Had an 84 Cavalier (USA Opel Kadet) do that. The crank had a small brief knock on hot start up and progressed to deprive a big end enough to wipe and start to knock hot.

that engine is gonna need a new Crank :(, The scoring is what wrecks them, It can also be costly to regrind, then get oversized Bearings to fit, Commodores do worse damage than that only on the Number 3 Cyl

@ls1cat yer ill give them a call 2mora. i have tyred a few placed and they so too old.lol i have found one for 350$ but i wana see if i can find one with warranty.

@Aussie50 yep also this happens if ye let it get too dirty.should change oil every 5-7000 KM without fail and more for older cars like 4000 km or so.

@V8Jagnut Metallic sludge in it is like fine sanding dust. They just think, hey it's oil in there it should be fine. That bearing is very sad.
