Training as usual +Tom Wasserman, but I still have not decided which distance I'll be racing next year...Hope you're doing a good training base as well!
+Tom Wasserman (tomwtri) thanks mate! It was a cold day but funny though!
Sister Lakes Triathlon - 2014
King Of The Causeway Triathlon Recap | Wally's Bicycles | South Padre Island
Wally's Bicycles Annual King of the Causeway Event! Enjoy! Aerial Footage : Red Wing Aerials Race Footage : Eye To Eye Media | Gabriel Guzman Canon 7d ...
We're in Maui for the Film Festival which also coincided with the Triathlon. I took the trusty Canon 7D out for a walk and followed some of the Triathlon path and ...
ISIS: Business as usual.
Turk denial: Business as usual.
McDonalds: Good, their food sucks anyway.
Auto: I love working on my own cars/bikes but I know that eventually the
OEM's will win this one (much like how big telecom will eventually defeat
net neutrality). Money wins in this country every time - it just takes
time and enough money for it to win.... :'( Shitty era we live in, what's
"right" doesn't mean shit, anymore.
Embryo deal: I have no idea. It's a big step, that's for sure...still not
sure whether I support it or am against it - I'll probably remain neutral
on the matter.
+Slizzard73 Yea but just the first part. I mean we can make some guesses based on chemistry, but if we start simple knowing that gay people have more of "X" (whatever X is, assume say, estrogen), and if we figure out that X has a strong correlation with this trait, then yea, things get scary. People may be at the doctor's office and they may say he/she has a Y% chance of being gay, and then that's where the shit will hit the fan. You're right though, people will start flipping out before we even get that far, heh.
+MrSlowestD16 Well sexuality is a spectrum, and this assumes sexuality is 100% controlled genetically. But I don't think anyone would allow that in the first place.
+Slizzard73 Yea. Just wait until they find the genes that manage hormone control and have the ability to turn people gay or straight. Holy shit will it be a fire-fight when that happens.
You're definitely right, it would be difficult to agree on what's reasonable to change. I say hair color's fine because it affects nothing, I mean you can already dye your hair whatever color you want, color contacts exist. Height has implications with health, while hair/eye color don't. But I will say a lot of stuff is kind of obvious as to whether or not it's a moral issue.
+Slizzard73 I think picking and choosing what's valid and what isn't is a very slippery slope. How do you say changing height isn't OK, but changing hair color is? I'm not sure I'm a fan of any of the physical appearance altering. It would be nice if we could 'remove' genetic disorders/diseases, though, IMO.
+MrSlowestD16 On the Embryo thing I don't see anything wrong when it's used to prevent diseases that ultimately cause pain, suffering, and loss of life. The gray area would be changing physical attributes. Which I think is fine since they're not controlled anyway, they're just sort of random. As long as there are limits, for example you can't make your kid 6'8" so he'll be a basketball star. But if you want a baby with blue eyes and red hair whats the problem?
15 an hour, get the fuck out of here... People get paid less from jobs that
require college education. Do something with your lives if you're gonna
complain.
+blackestskyline Someone has to work the job full time, they deserve to be paid a living wage based on where they live. I'd guess about 12 is reasonable.
+Tugberk Sengezer As long as moderate Muslims continue to condemn these silly and barbaric crazies I think things will get better. I'm an atheist so I have no love for Islam but anyone who's peaceful shouldn't be shamed. :)
+bestest#1 That's funny. In Finnish, naida means both to fuck and to marry. Did you know about these cool peoples known as the Uralic peoples? Them be cool peoples!
yo sourcefed, maybe try not to sound so general by saying "citizens" in the
description box because it makes it sound like all arab countries do this
:)
1. ISIS are dumbasses by all arab standards,
2. ISIS are a terrorist group. let's not walk around calling them
muslims/arabs/etc because it can portray that ISIS= arab = terrorist which
isnt true either.
3. anyone about to argue: have you personally been to modern countries in
the middle east? Im talking Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi? no? then
please dont spread bullshit because we're not all like this.
No no I get things are different from country to country even drastically like you said. And I would never say all Muslims should ever by associated with Isis. So here we are. I'm not sure we disagree.
+Slizzard73 yes, they cant drive and pork is illegal, and im not cool with that hence why i choose not to visit/live there. but thats very different than saying "its not safe". saudi is a one hour drive from my country (Bahrain) and we're also predominantly muslim, but NO one has gotten killed/abused/any fucks given for leaving Islam, we have night clubs and alcohol everywhere, we sell pork, and we're a mixing pot of religions. except all you took from my previous comment was "oh saudi=bad" and all i replied with is "nope, bahrain=good" and neither of us is correct. what i was trying to say is yes, the middle east AS A WHOLE has problems but ISIS is a terrorist group to all of us and the last time i checked they're killing muslims just as much an non-muslims so lets not label them as all arabs or muslims since they dont represent either :) also theres a shit ton of non-muslims and expats in saudi too so nope your facts arent all correct- please dont believe the media's generalizations
+Fatima Shirazi Saudi Arabia isn't exactly a safe haven. Women can't drive, be out alone, other religions are banned, pork is illegal, and you can't drink alcohol. Not exactly progressive. Also if you leave Islam you get the death penalty.
