+Benners88 I have no problem with the notion that life exists on alien planets, it probably does.  Whether that life has been able to surpass us in technology and bend the laws of physics to visit us from another world is a different matter.  I will not dismiss it entirely but I find it extremely unlikely.

It was very hot and sleeping on the terrace was a norm. After these reports, people stopped sleeping in open areas. Though I was 11-12 years old that time, mostly I remember people talking about insect/object emitting colorful lights and giving them scratches and burns. Well, that time people were not so aware about the UFO phenomenon and newspapers gave more stress on mischievous elements rather than on anything even closely related to UFO or aliens. It is now, people have started to point out as UFOs as a probable reason. Now, I think it makes more sense. Those people who were attacked were mostly illiterate and ignorant. So, they tried to describe the events according to their logic.
