Chimney Oak Failure (What would YOU do)
Okay, this is the situation I walked into. What would YOU do? This tree is balanced on one tip of the chimney. The roots are half in the ground. It fell about 15 feet.
The tree fell on the house on the weekend and the people were away. I din't get the call till Tuesday. Started Wednesday. I have the longer video in the edit right now. It's good.
+WhyKnot Nope, what you see is what you have to work with. Even if the tree was growing upright would have been easier. Kinda like working off the end of a fishing pole. Video coming, working on the edit now.
Wowza - that should be a challenge. I like the A-frame idea, though. No
telling what little tiny shift in weight might cause the chimney to
collapse or fall to the side. Stabilize that thing.
I did the job, it came out good but it was really a challenge. The balance point kept shifting and we could not use a crane to lift anything. Follow up video is coming.
