Delta Air Lines Habitat for Humanity Boeing 767-322/ER at O'Hare Int'l Airport [11.26.2012]
"Flying on the wings of Hope and Humanity" Thanks to OHAREAVIATION for the timely e-mail letting me know this was coming! This is for him. Unfortunately ...
Yep, they do. Perks of being Skyteam partners, I guess. Virgin isn't flying
here now either, so all the other airlines get to gobble that market up for
now. I ran into some articles about this being flown specifically into
disaster areas: i.e. New Orleans, Port-au-Prince Haiti, the East Coast,
with Habitat volunteers.
Thanks! Yeah, Air France normally handles the Paris-Chicago route, daily,
but with low ridership due to the winter, Delta picks up the slack and
flies these 767's in. Hopefully they'll send more special liveries soon.
Fantastic design and colors. Habitat for Humanity is such a wonderful
organization which has built more than a half-millions homes for the needy
worldwide since its beginnings back in the 1970's.
Nice catch! I loved the 767 ever since I took a -300 on ATL-Buenos Aires
and a -400 on Sao Paulo-ATL. Both were Deltas, but not as nice looking as
this.
