iMac 27" 2.8GHz Core i7 Performance
2.8GHz Core i7 w/ 8GB RAM concurrently running: Hulu, iTunes movie, two Youtube sessions, TWIT.tv, Netflix, iCal, Mail, and Parallels with Windows Vista 64 ...
@MoetheTech not really, many people have that notion because of the $ apple
puts on its products. do some research next time, the only stand alone 27in
ips display is from dell, it roughly costs $1200, with that in mind i
bought an i7 (3.6ghz) with a decent gpu (ATI 5750 1gb) and one tb and 8 gb
of RAM with bluetooth and wireless in it and win 7 ultimate ALL in a 27
inch ips display, that costed me about $1950 with tax, so i technically
paid about at most $750 for all of that without the display
@pascbjumper2 OK, find me or build me a computer with the core i7 and an
ATI 5750 (1GB of VRAM) with 8gb of ram and Mac OSX and windows 7.. oh i
almost forgot the 27inch IPS LED display. if you find me one under the
price range of at least $2,000 i will applaud you for your findings, if
not, well you should research the quality and cost that is packaged with
the 27inch imac. im enjoying windows 7 on mine and it was the best decision
i have ever made. now i must attend to Crysis that i am playing
@MoetheTech my gpu has dx11 and opengl. but the CUDA is for nvidia and i
have an ATI which also has ATI Stream (the competition for nvidias CUDA),
yes i can get all the eyecandy check out my crysis vid ( but it does stress
out the system for me but probably not for your rig), i think it was worth
it, i just cant deal with finding a rig that caters to my specs or even
building a rig with all of my specs. one problem with this debate is that
we are arguing between an all-in-one and a custom tower
@MoetheTech wtf do you mean when you say "mac" cant take advantage of the
screen. again this computer wasn't meant for gaming servers, 3 OSs and
botting stuff you do. im not saying the gpu is shit but its decent, check
out my vid of crysis. this platform was made for people like me studio
graphic and video designers not powerhousing people like you. you see we
are two different audiences. by the way i run win 7 ultimate 64bit on my
imac to render 3d models. i just i think your a pc fanboy
Woo! Core i7 is da bomb man! Im getting a Core i7 w/ 8GB RAM MacBook Pro!
Im gonna run OS X 6 and Windows 7 with Paralells and in Cohence mode. Thats
so cool that way its like Windows and Mac OS X combined so you can play
Windows games in work in the better version of Office and still AND AERO! I
really like aero style windows and then you can run all your Mac apps all
at the same time! Ahhh...remember the days of crappy processors and
operating systems and less than 250mb of RAM.....
@MoetheTech my 27" IPS LED crapple display will SHIT on your 24" samsung
and i dont even know why you're talking about a tv. btw unless you are
seriously going to work that machine for like video or 3d rendering, thats
a little overkill if it is just for games (haha, im presuming from your
youtube channel), i already have consoles and a 60" sony bravia for that
shit
@alwayson09 good choice! No regrets so far! The i7 is truly a beast! Apple
Care is a must with this screen. Initial batches had problematic
screens/video cards, but it seems they fixed all the issues so your timing
on purchasing is very good!
That i7 chip really IS a beast! WOW I'm actually buying the same computer
in Early July and tax and all with a student discount comes to like $2600
but I'm adding mobile me and AppleCare and 8gb SDRAM but man oh man it is
so worth the money!
@MoetheTech i stay current, i have the CS5 master suite and many cs5's use
ati stream technology. with the custom rig, i can deal with shit not
working or os crashing and the whole warranty process for each little part
