i used to have one. the fuel mileage was absolutely terrible. I literally
went through 20 gallons in 57 miles of driving. after one year I told the
dealer to take that shit back
+CowboyTheBouncer I don't think so! Corpis Christi is very popular with tourist! I don't think they'd allow racism and if there are racist idiot's like in mainland Texas then it's pretty small to non existent!
+CowboyTheBouncer It doe's get very hot in the Summer in part's of Texas! If you move to Texas try to move to around Corpis Crispy! That's the southern most part and it's pretty nice!
About Texas extremeness, I can't tell you because I haven't been there personally, but one of my relatives who lives in Texas told me that, one day, he got out and go to work as usual. When he got back home in the afternoon, he couldn't find his home because his house "disappeared", buried in sand :))
Argh. No idea. I view racist as the same as trash. I can't tell much about that, but I hope you can find a new place, and according to you, if you're 21, find a good job.
Oh OK, I can see the problem now. Chicago. One of the worst city I've ever known. Bad for both petrol heads and shooters. Bad for everything. I rate it same as Los Angeles for one of the most lame and against-the-original-US-freedom-ideology. I'm sorry for anyone has to live in Chicago. And about the cold-starting, I don't even remember if the Alpha has an engine heater or not, but many, if not most, to my knowledge, modern diesels have heaters in order to assist in cold-starting. I live in Georgia so cold-starting isn't a problem.
+Niko Klebitz yeah it's diesel you know what I mean and mines was mainly city..in Chicago. constant fucking starting and stopping. and these don't do well in cold weather.
By "this same exact vehicle", do you mean the vehicle in this review or just an another Alpha? Either way, I think you've made a mistake for the normal H1 using a gas engine. One of my friends has this one and I was at first surprised by its fuel economy of around 13l/100km or 18m/g (urban and highway combined). Its a diesel, not a gas. If a gas engine is to generate close-to-diesel torque, it generally will have to consume a lot more fuel in order to compensate for the lack of force applied on the piston, since gas engines have lower compression ratio compared to diesels. Plus, you've exaggerated the fuel consumption even for the normal H1, since "20 gallons in 57 miles" means 2.85m/g, which is about the same as old Soviet military trucks using gas engines (ZIL-131 for example). I've never seen/heard any H1 owners tell that their H1 averages 2.85m/g.
