@dagrome talk about spreading misinformation. every one of your so called
facts are dead wrong. i dare you to go to the sonicownersforum and present
your "facts" so that you may be presented with the truth. the 25/35 for the
sonic is taken right from the window sticker of a sonic on a dealer lot.
there is even a video of it posted there. there is also a pic of the inside
of the door jam that giives the curb weight. cruze eco is pretty slippery
at .29 cd. sonic has a confirmed cd of .33
@roxybuddychanel Get your facts straight. The Sonic will have the same
powertrains as the Cruze. The Sonic is also over 400 pounds lighter than
the Cruze, meaning no matter which powertreain you choose, your going to
have better MPGs than the Cruze. So if the 1.8 Cruze got 25 city, and 35
highway, you are automatically improving upon that. Next time, double
check. Real MPG: 1.8: 27C/37H 1.4: 28C/40H Keep in mind 0-60 time for 1.4
is 7.4 seconds. Which is GREAT in this segment.
@dagrome how am i spreading misinformation. fact: the sonic 1.8 curb weight
is 2850 lbs (that is straight from the inside of the door jam).that is what
i mean by fat..its way too heavy for a subcompact fact: the sonic 1.8 epa
sticker is 25 mpg city/35 mpg highway another fact: the drag coefficient
for the sonic is .33, mediocre to below average for the class. so, please
tell what misinformation i am spreading.
@roxybuddychanel I corrected myself and said 7.9. Also, the Sonic is 400
pounds lighter than the Cruze so of course the Cruze won't be able to out
accelerate it. When did I ever say any of my stats were for the Cruze?
Please, learn to read. Yes, the 1.8 won't be winning any races, the 1.4
gets the 7.9s 0-60 time. The 1.8 Sonic gets exactly around what you said.
Seriously, are you disregarding everything I say?
@roxybuddychanel Hey, buddy, I correct myself and said 7.9 seconds. Again
with the reading error eh? Seriously? Once again, the Sonic is over 400
pounds lighter than the Cruze, so why you would ever compare the Cruze's
acceleration with the Sonic is beyond me. The 1.8 liter engine accelerates
from 0-60 in about 9.5s (you finally got something right) and the 1.4 turbo
gets the 7.9s (class leading).
@roxybuddychanel I also don't understand why you keep calling this car
"fat". It is 1 inch wider than a Fiesta, which doesn't say anything. Have
you ever seen a Sonic in person? I saw it at the Philadelphia Auto Show,
believe me, it's not fat. I know I sound like a Chevy promoter, I'm not, I
own a Honda, but i do what I can to correct people like you from spreading
incorrect information.
@roxybuddychanel I don't know what window sticker your looking at, but the
Sonic hasn't come out yet. Seeing as how those are the exact EPA estimates
for the AVEO, I'm just going to assume you either can't read names or can't
differentiate between the two cars. Also, you should probably read
CarandDriver's review of the Sonic and realize that the gas mileage is as I
said before.
If it turns out to be true that the Sonic spits out 138HP in turbo trim
while returning 40mpg on the freeway, AND its put together right; I'll give
post bailout GM a shot to win me over by buying one. That is one great
looking car. I know its merely an updated Aveo. I'd do the same for
Chrylser if they EVER get around to making a decent car. (Challenger
excluded)
I have a 2012 hatch ltz silver with black interior. This is such a sweet
little car to drive! The seats are very comfortable and it gets 40 mpg on
freeway. They handle like a go- cart and with the backseats down flat you
could throw moutain bike back there. This is just a cool car that is fun to
drive and is actually pretty quick! And it is a great price. Enjoy!
@dagrome looks like you have some reading to do. its right on the window
sticker. 25 city/35 highway for the sonic 1.8....like i said, massive fail
for the segment. the sonic is too fat and lack good aerodynamics. chevy
will need the 1.4t just to get mileage figures to keep up with the new
accent, but at a higher cost and less expected reliability.
Its like american manufacturers believe certain groups only care for cars
that look exceptional. Someone who buys a sports car cares about the
appearance of the car but people who can't or don't prefer to buy a sports
don't care about how the car looks......thats false imo but thats how I
feel american manufacturers approach car creation.
@wiccanmoonman have you ever drove a chevy what car company do you like I
hope not ford. We work on more fords and chryslers then most any other car
at my shop next would be honda even though they are suppose to be super
reliable like every other car they are junk.
Hi, i own this car as the hatchback in metallic red and i love it. its
super nippy steering is awesome, the styling is great, and by small
hatchback standards the interior is fantastic. if you have any questions
about the car just ask me
@dagrome 7.4?? reading through the cruze forums, even with the trifecta
tune, 1.4t cruze owners arent even running 7.4. there has already been one
official test of the sonic 1.8...0-60 in 9.4...like i said, its too fat for
a subcompact.
That gauge cluster needs serious improvement.33sec. No temp, Oil , Volts
??? That thing looks like you grab one of those tabs to remove it. It looks
like someone forgot to make a proper gauge cluster and stuck this thing
there!!! Yuck.
They've brought this to the UK and it is still the 'AVEO' why do companies
do this? They should have changed it to the 'SONIC' everywhere! There must
be a right bunch of pricks in charge at Chevrolet.
DO NOT LIKE THE EXTERIOR. Why do american car manufacturers not get it? The
mazda 2 is a nice looking small car. American manufacturers create blah and
bland looking cars. The camaro is an exception.
i have the LT model. it has the bluetooth call accepting, usb, 1/8th in.,
and cd stereo. its equiped with fabric seats and fog lights. if you want
more specific just specify or go to chevy's website
the epa estimate is official for the 1.8 sonic (which is the one that will
sell by far the most.....) 25 mpg city 35 mpg highway MASSIVE FAIL FOR THE
SEGMENT!
nice how much and when? also in mexico? & what about the ford fiesta st?
