I am gonna be the one to say this. How much longer will it be until teachers/administration starts to carry guns. I am personally all for it. As a student going into law enforcement, I would personally carry a gun right now at school if I was allowed to. The problem with school shootings is that no one is allowed to carry at school. Thus when some nut job decides it is time to take people out there is no way to stop them. Maybe if others were allowed to carry a gun one could try & stop it.

Here is a fun fact, more children die in school sports than in school shootings ... where is your compassion for them? Ever notice how all these people are on "prescribed" drugs, but most times have recently gone off them. Gee, could there be a connection? WAKE UP!!!! I live 5 minutes from NIU and know someone that was hurt. This is a time that everyone needs to come together as one and show support to those families that had a loved one on campus not about race, presidents, or insults of others. did you ever stop to think that maybe that's what caused it?

i just recenty visited the school and they said they were doing "renovations" of Cole Hall, but they're not reopening the room where the shootings took place. I mean i ca get why theyd want to do that but at the same time i think thats an insult to the students memory

As far as I am concerned, it is the schools right to protect these students... not even an armed security guard, or metal detector... yet they have their "gun free zone" signs posted that tells retired and off duty cops to disarm before they are on campus, yet the gunman went through unopposed, free to kill away.... no one was there to protect and defend these innocent people... people should be intelligent enough to know a sign WILL NOT PROTECT THEM.

he shot himself in the head, he was a graduate teachers assistant at niu the year before but had transferred to isu and was on depression medications. There was a big controversy on campus regarding how many crosses to display in memorial to he tragedy; "five" for the 5 slain, or "six" including the suicide of the shooter. the churches tried to display 6 but one would always get kicked down

As for Wikipedia, Ive always known some great people cant spell. I was diagnosed with dyslexia years ago. I was bullied my whole childhood for poor spelling. I made bomb threats to my school & had a hit list myself. I even lit my desk on fire. You would have made it on my hit list. It was 30 years later Id come to realize nutrition. From the horses mouth I feel that most of these things would not happen if parental neglect wasnt involved. Bullies are not taught not to bully & the picked on are not taught to feel good about themselves. They dont need validation from anyone but mom & dad. If no one teaches validation is from within around a bunch of Lops then its hopeless. Good diets help stabilize hormones Toxins & malnutrition cause neurological problems & unstable moods. @pencilwriter very valid point. I recently confronted a guy who always tried to humilate me and high school and I was very popular. I played football, ran track, excelled in debate. But some kids feel the need to bring others down and unfortunately only extreme violence will deter them. I basically called the guy out and told him I would kick his ass on the spot and anybody else as well. We have been out of high school now for over 10 years and yet he continued until I became very violent.

i was picked on numerous times but repeatedly by two dudes, one day i had enough, i told a teacher that if they didn't do anything about this issue, then i will. Well of course no one did or said anything, & following day they were at it again so i bare knuckled punched each one, was threatened with expulsion but i had evidence on faculty. Best day of my life, moral of this comment- anyone who is bullied regardless of age, tell someone that if nothing is done, then you ll take care of it.
