If i had a charger, i may throw a crate motor in. I would upgrade the
suspension, and would maybe use a rollcage or upgrade the interior to
leather and not vinyl. But god. I gotta say that's horrible. Outside is
allright, but the interior, the modern crate engine and the SRT badges
everywhere killed the car.
Clone or not I think if people want a new car then buy one. To go that far
with such an awsome piece of american muscle car history should be a crime.
A few modern upgrades especially for saftey I think are ok but to go to
that extreme is just wrong. Just my opinion.
:-() wow very very nice two thumbs way up the only thing i didnt like
thought is the fact that the charger 500 is such a rare machine that its
almost a shame to customize like that BUT almost only counst in horse shoes
and hand grenades nice car man
Purests are just afraid to have fun. Not everyone wants a show car that
sits its whole life. Some of us actually want to drive our cars. No offense
of course but still, if you're afraid to experiment you'll never have fun
with your car.
Not sure if that's a clone or real. The roof line in the back is correct,
but he's missing the air deflectors on the A pillars. Judging by the roof,
it's probably real.
@rangerluke97 I have a balanced rotating assy in a complete short-block. I
looked up my trw pistons L2390 I think the designation was. ends up being
about 8:1 comp with the "C" heads that I have. I was thinking about using a
holset for a for a while now. How did yours work? What carb did you use? I
have a Predator or a 750DP to chose from.
on post dyno inspection the bearings looked like new. a good balance job
and no RPM will give this motor more life then most would think. clearences
are large! take a look at the truck its going in, i will never be able to
put a load on the motor like the dyno did. it will be interesting to see
how long it lasts.
all the engine and carb specs are in the video description. the link there
is to a olds forum where we discuss the build in detail - good luck with
yours! yeah i was pumped to get that little pic in car craft. nice to get
an award at the first car show i took it to!
I NOTICED THE ENGINE STARTED TO GO LEAN AROUND 4300 RPM. YOU SAID YOU
FOUND AIR LEAKS BEFORE THE CARB. WOULD'T IT GO LEAN IF THE LEAK WAS AFTER
THE CARB? PLEASE CLARIFY AND WHAT YOU DID TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. P.S THANKS
FOR NOT TURBOCHARGING ANOTHER LS MOTOR.
Don't be so hasty to put down iron heads. The Olds heads had huge runners,
both in and out. Find a pair of "C" heads, port and polish them, and you
will have as good or better flow than an aluminum pair. Old don't mean junk.
Need to get mine finished and on the dyno. Running flat tops, Mondello
posiflow 4150 intake, Edelbrock heads, MSD setup, and roller cam with
531/538 230/236 @ 0.050 and 110 LSA. Should be a beast in a 64 Cutlass.
+V BwellI put all the parts that I put in the motor I could not find my cam tech sheet but if you need to know I can look it up thanks for looking at my motor
What brand valve covers are those? I have a set that was gave to me
identical to those and the guy didn't know what they where for lol and have
found nothing on them. My only thought is they were custom fabricated
