Let me get this right. All of these benifits are based of the new stanards
for the auto industry. Are there any cars on the road that get that kind of
MPG? Besides electric cars...I wonder how much oil is used to charge an
electric vehicle. I think its a good thing that put these requirements so
far out so that when they realize there unachievable they can rescind them.
The only reason they're in place is to fine car companies when they can't
make cars that get the required MPG.
bugatti is powered by the combustion engine, as soon as a new way to store
power (battery) is invented, we are talking using an electric motor, which
is much MUCH more powerful than a gas engine, were talking bugattis with
5-10 times the power, the electric motor can go thousands of times more
powerful and run for much cheaper than a gas engine, believe me, you want
environmentally friendly cars, it will make way for massive power, beyond
anything we know now. 12000hp converted
Oooohhhh I thought by "so far out" you meant that the mpg was out of reach,
not that it was so far in the future haha. My bad. And although I do see
your point, I think your analogy is a little bit off. People have fixed
body shapes whereas we can make cars to whatever shape we want, imrpoving
their aerodynamics. I know it won't be the be-all-end-all magical cure to
get to the mpg rating that is wanted here, but it could help to a certain
point.
No. Because there is competition between oil companies those who offer the
lowest sustainable prices win. They won't just raise prices. They will
decrease supply in the long run which will increase price back to around
the same price as before after an initial price drop. Although I do think
that perhaps the price won't drop in the short term just because fuel is a
necessary resource for some companies. but competition should control this.
yeah & that's a bad thing because the big gas guzzlers aren't any safer,
some rare examples might actually do better in a head on crash, but since
they are big and heavy they are much worse at evading accidents
altogether-> the safest accident is the one you don't have in the first
place. Also most of the big American truck bulk is just show and offers
very little protection, because it's passenger cabin stiffness that counts,
not bulk.
American need to stop complaining about gas prices, compared to the Europe
they are LOW. Last summer in the USA and Canada the average price per
gallon was about 4 to 4.50 dollar. A gallon is about 4 liter and the
average price of gas in Europe per liter is 1.5 to 2 euros euros. So here
in Europe we pay about 9 US dollars per gallon. So stop complaining about
gas prices until you need to pay as much as we Europeans need to do.
I like everything about the new standards except where the government gives
some of my tax money to companies that make cars which meet the future
standards, because I only buy a used car with cash once every 7-8 years. It
is like giving a kid an allowance even when they don't do their chores.
Like that kid, it will make the car companies feel entitled to government
subsidies - Sound familiar?
there is a valid point in the concerns about safety. Go watch some driving
FAIL and car accident videos on youtube...now imagine all the cars being a
lotus or a smart car or something tiny and made of carbon fiber instead of
cast iron/aluminum like your average domestic car. people will always be
bad drivers, I really do think there will be more serious or fatal
accidents.
Oh, dont worry, i know that the Dino wasnt a great car. I live in the
middle east where gas is cheap as water(well, almost), so its not my
concern really, but I will eventually have graduated and live in the UK, so
yeah, that might be my choice of car =) will miss the torque on that V6
tho, it is AWESOME
I did point out that they "put the requirements so far out." To me this is
like saying that "I think that by 2020 we can double the speed of most
professional athletes. There are certain limitations that need to be taken
in to account. I think it's mostly just to regulate gas engines out of the
market.
@zrjcwsi ive lost count how much money i spent on these products before i
started really making money! im so happy i did though cause i found a
mentor and method which helped me earn a considerable fortune. but im not
the type to keep a good thing all to myself you can get it here:

@canascot02 The saftey rating doesn't include the variable of 75% of the
other cars on the road and two times your size. So i think it was a joke on
how small it was not the actual saftey ratings. Standards...saftey
standards...you got very defensive about your tiny little car.
Why not make muscle cars that meet regulation? The body is just a shell, we
don't need to have unattractive cars. I'm completely for this nonetheless!
However, I felt the screams of a thousand hicks and douchebags all at once
while watching this video.
Eek, I'd forgotten about that. My bad. I did however Google a converter,
and the difference isn't as much as you say - 50mpg UK is approx. 42mpg
US... So although I take back my ill-considered arrogance on the issue, my
point does still stand.
I think these are good, despite loving performance cars I don't see this as
a big holdback on performance, it might lag for about a year or two but
will jump back ever higher most likely taking advantage of hybrid systems,
which is awesome.
they should've thought about it like idk when they first heard about global
warming being a possibility , noticed our dependence in foreign oil , but
of course they probably did notice but are probably bought out by big oil
companies.
I drive a Smart car. Best car I've ever owned. Lots of fun to drive, I can
fit it into tight spaces in traffic, and it's the most amazing pussy-mobile
you'll ever see. It's like driving around in an adorable little puppy.
Insane 84MPG Future Car?!
Insane 84MPG Future Car?! I drove the Elio hyper car with 84MPG (miles per gallon) which beats out a Toyota Prius in fuel efficiency. How was it? Pretty damn ...
+Mike Barnett Gotta edit my comment - as I understand it the seatbelt was inoperative in the P4. But the hand gestures and no hands on the wheel - slap yourself upside the head for that, kid!
+Tommy T Ehh. His reading skills are fine. Your first comment was poorly worded. I understood what you were trying to say, but you could definitely word it better. Maybe try "I hate it when people that don't have a good understanding of cars try to review them."
+TechSmartt Just gave my first impressions of the video. I wouldn't expect you to care and I wouldn't expect you to turn the opportunity to make the video down but it just seems like a waste of what could be a fairly unique video (in that not many people can just go and shoot this)I don't use twitter so I don't know if you do/did this but tweeting out that you're going to be reviewing it before you do and asking for questions people want answered could be beneficial. Also maybe checking out videos by respected car reviewers since it feels like an area you're not even remotely passionate about. (I'd recommend our God, Chris Harris)
+Tommy T I really don't care lol, it's a cool car and I gave my first impressions on it from what I know, thanks for watching!
