I highly appreciate this man, a true American hero! :) He has the balls to
say what he thinks, he's a model of honest and brave person. We need more
people like him in order to change something in the country, in the world.
I am working with a lenet style CNN in Python and I have hyperparameters
like learning rate, weight decay, etc. but I'm not sure how to use any
bayesian optimization. It takes me about 40 minutes to run my model and I
would love help tuning. Is there a good tutorial or intro to bayesian
optimization? The README files are not very helpful (for stuff like
HyperOpt).

I agree the situation looks bleak and your comparison with Rome is apt but
I think there is room for hope. I'm starting a movement to bring another
Constitutional Convention to Philadelphia in 2009 to restore citizenship,
individual liberty, limit the Presidency, fix foreign policy, prevent
terrorism (even by our own govt) and restore checks and balances. My ideas
are in a new book on Amazon called Common Sense II by me (Tom Sulcer).
Please encourage this to happen.
both Republicans & Democrats have signed their names to bills that have
together weakened large portions of the constitution, so if we are getting
the same results from both parties then a vote for either party is a wasted
vote. Break the strangle hold of the 2 major parties! vote 3rd party this
year, I recommend conservatives check out chuck Baldwin of the constitution
party and liberals I think will find Ralph Nader to be a much better choice
than Obama.
Ellsberg is right. We can't count on either party to reform a corrupt
system. No president-elect will want to rein in the powers of the Imperial
Presidency after having worked so hard and endured so much to become
President. A non-partisan solution is needed. My book Common Sense II (on
Amazon) calls for a Constitutional Convention. Will anybody join me in
calling for a Constitutional Convention to meet in July 2009 in
Philadelphia?
Yep. So if you don't trust the president, then you would want him to tell
others. But if the president does not trust the congress, then what? I
think we are in unusual times now. I honestly don't have a problem with the
telephone thing because I do believe it is for our protection from
terrorists. The telephone tapping has been successful because we have not
had another attack on U.S. soil.
you guys.... gosh...dont you watch the news? we need them to listen and
store all of our interactions... it helps them locate the terrorists.. they
are not watching us..they are watching the terrorists so we are safe from
them....for real...i saw a story on it on cnn AND fox..AND nbc cbs abc
msnbc even AMradio... we need to be watched for our SAFTYY....you guys...
the thing is that would make sense if they would release the information on
the people who they captured, and who they are watching at LEAST to
congress, but the president doesn't have to release any information to
anyone. what about if he's not spying on people to find terrorists? well no
one would find out would they. theres no one to watch him is the point
Hmmm... well, if I had to start anywhere, it would be it's violaton of
civil liberties, and the excessive outgrowth of federal, especially
executive, power. Then I wold say our lack of social freedom, then our
system of taxation, then our insane spending, and finally our forign
policy. So... basically everything.
Well, even if "Chief Executive" and "Commander-in-Chief" were synonomous,
which they're not; Washington resigned his comission in 1783, as the War
was ending, and 6 years before the modern constitution was ratified. There
was no commander-in-chief for a while.
Maybe the majority of Americans who want change are going about it wrong.
Maybe we need a rebellion, a revolution to RESTORE the American Republic. I
doubt this can be done through presidential elections, and movements like
thr Ron Paul revolution.
Unfortunately for the United States, just as it was with the Roman
Republic, once a republic becomes an empire there is no going back and the
United States must therefore accept the inevitable decline and fall that
all empires experience in time.
The Chief Executive is the head of government. He or she presides over a
cabinet, holds veto power/signs bills into law, is typically elected, and
leads the executive branch. The Commander-in-Chief is simply the supreme
commander of the military.
black; agreed. far too many do not believe or understand that every empire
fails (given time) and those people are unwilling to accept that they are a
part of a declining world power.
I mean a president as we know it. The closest thing the Articles had was
President of Congress, which was not an executive position. There was no
executive branch.
