The Nor'easters- LAAF 2014- Don't Wake Me Up, Mine, Diamonds, Elastic Heart
This is the best cover of Elastic Heart. I would believe the female soloist
is Johanna Martendal. I love her voice which is so powerful, soft, and
amazing. She nails the song. I have seen all Elastic Heart covers available
on Youtube. No one could successfully sing "You did not brake me. I'm still
fighting for love." These are the hardest phrases in the whole song to
sing. Of couse, Sia sings them beautifully so does Johanna. I can feel the
"warring Sia stages" only in the original and this cover. I'm so sad
Johanna have been retired :(
I completely disagree with the comments saying this was bad because the
background drowned out the soloists - this seemed like an informal
performance, which means usually the soloist is not mic'd and the
background still performs at the volume they would be if the soloist was
mic'd. I thought Elastic Heart was amazing, and the vocal was stunning.
It's not "screaming," it's called an emotional belt.
