Still don't understand why Claudio Reyna didn't play in this game. After
the 1994 World Cup he was to play for Bayern Leverkusen in the First
Division of the Bundesliga. Reyna and Ramos would have caused a lot of
headache to that Brazilian team.
that elbow that Leonardo used to crack open Tab Ramos' skull is just
sickening to watch. We'll never know if it was an accident or not, but it
robbed the USA of their most talented and creative player. Ugh. just
disgusting.
+DakonBlackblade2 Rivaldo. My bad. I still don't like Leonardo's play. Players get held all the time, but rarely end up with cracked skulls. I see your point, but I still don't give Leonardo the benefit of the doubt on this one, mainly because it took out USA's best player on the pitch. Leonardo may not have been a dirty player, but it was a very dirty play.
+invanillasky I didnt say it was a clean play, but he does have a point, Ramos was holding him and was crouching, Leonardo isnt known for beeing a dirty player, he wanted to gain some space but did so in a not very inteligent way and ended up hitting Ramos in te face. And I believe you mean Rivaldo against the Turks, with the whole faking that the ball hit him in the face stunt.
+invanillasky Leonardo always say he didnt want to hit him in the head, he just wanted Tab to stob holding him (Tab was in fact holding Leornado) and he threw the arm back, however Tab was kinda crouching and the elbow went straight to his face.
still tough to swallow after all these years. that USA host nation team
made up in scrappy play what was lacked in club-level superstars and
skillsets. And we still played the Brazilians tough. One day, I hope to
see USA team get a World Cup win over Brazil or Germany. I've seen the
Germans beat us 3 times now in my life, I'm pretty sick of it.
+joesakic91 I've been digesting your comment for a while, and I've decided that the US needs one of two things to get to the next level:1) A superstar striker. A player that finishes scrappy chances the way that Gabriel Batistuta or Florin Raducioiu used to, someone that cleans up spectacularly in front of goal via a deflection or a loose ball, great pass, etc. Donovan showed flashes of being able to do this, but he didn't have the size.or 2) A midfielder capable of controlling the pace of the game. Someone like Arjen Robben or Alan Shearer that can direct the team to a lengthy possession while on the field. Obviously, this is also a type of superstar player. Bradley either needs to become this type of player (since he has recently been named Captain America) or I don't see USA taking any big steps forward in 2018.Sorry for the long length, but I am a US football fanatic as well as a World Cup fanatic.
+invanillasky The problem for the USMNT is that they need to improve the technical aspects of the game. They have the fighting spirit and fitness to compete in major tournaments like the FIFA World Cup, but they need to nail the technical aspects including ball possession.
+joesakic91 Yes, I'm aware that all the losses were to quality teams. The Brazilians that bested the Americans in Rd 2 of 94 went on to the World Cup, the German team in 2002 that beat USA played in the championship game. But nevertheless, I still would like to see USA come out on top of one of these tough match ups in the Rd of 16 one day rather than a 1 goal loss.
+invanillasky The USMNT can be a pest to some great teams and some rising stars. In their last four trips to the knockout stage in the FIFA World Cup (1994, 2002, 2010 and 2014), the U.S. men lost by one single goal including two in extra time to Ghana in 2010 R16 where the Black Stars should've went to the semifinals and a rising power in Europe in Belgium in the 2014 R16.

I know right!!! Damn I swear sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who has that predicament. Black men like us are really an anomaly. Every aspect of society, pop culture, media, and communities are telling us to go in a negative stereotypical direction, the second you go against the grain it really does feel like you don't belong anywhere. If you look at Wade, Anthony Davis, Isaiah thomas, they in no way shape or form conduct themselves like a wanna be tough guy bball player. They're actually nice guys. So yeah growing up in a murder capital city like Chicago, it's understandable why they wouldn't want to return. But going as far to say as they "hate" it is a bit too strong bruh.
+lone wolf agree 100 % Anthony grown up in the Englewood community and that area is very depressing. The reason why guys like wade, Isiah, and Anthony hates Chicago is because of the depressing memories they have when they lived their. You 100% percent. If you're a regular black man who's trying to make it... Society want accept you because there's no place for us in the black community or any other community. Black men being thugs and criminals are more accepted than us.. Very said
try to look at it from another perspective. Chicago is not known for being kind to young black men. They probably don't have to many fond memories there. Whenever I hear D Rose talk about Chicago, it's some depressing heavy shit man. I'm from Oakland, but I don't go out representing it b/c I never really clicked with my black community. I'm pretty sure Anthony Davis had tons of great memories in Kentucky.
+lone wolf Anthony Davis is a straight sellout!! He never reps Chicago, but rep Kentucky all day. Watch Anthony Davis home coming doc on YouTube he said he was a packers fan and couldn't wait until he got the hell outta Chicago. Anthony is another D wade and Isiah Thomas who hates their own city..
Jabari spefically said at his first introduction press conference that he wants to stay with the Bucks for his career b/c they decided to "ride with him" so during free agency I doubt he'll leave. Anthony Davis, I could see that happening one day.
Classic goals from Romario, Marcio Santos and Bebeto settled things for the Brazilians, who again face the Lions at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. More details on ...
+Tvdfan1 i live in the USA i still call it football, i'm not require to call is soccer! and yes i realize i had a spelling era this was posted before you could edit your comments
Team USA its the favorite one to win the RIO 2016 Games..along with
CHINA,..RUSSIA might have chance to get the bronze, but i just dont
see,Brazil being dominant,even if the absent players,like Thaisa,Fabiana
and specially Sheila Castro return, its going to be a tough one ,but then
again,USA team has develop such a strong lineup ,too hard to handle
+Sid tico it would be a terrible mistake to underestimate Brazil ,I know that, but so far Other teams have taken the lead over the South Americans champions,USA it's one of them ,along with CHINA ,Serbia and Russia, and even though any can happen at Rio 2016,I'm counting with the Americans to get the gold medal
+Wenyu Zhang brazil is going nowhere now. Their roster in World Grand Prix 2015 is definitely more athletic than the roster way back London 2012. Russia will make a comeback, trust me.
+jexxed the USA team didn't win gold at the FIVB World Cup. Karsta Lowe was blocked miserably against Serbia and Russia. She has great potential but right now is too young and inexperienced.
Karch has now won the WCH, WGP, and is ranked #1 in the world and you want a coach with 'some fucking sense'? Literally they've won gold at every tournament since 2014. He brought two players to make their NT debut and one won the best setter award (over Dani Lins), and the other won MVP. This is a tournament without a gold medal match, where all teams play the same number of matches in the final round.Seek help. Your bias is showing.
+Zahir LaVineoooh sorry, where was Japan in the 2012 Olympics? that's right. BEHIND USA.See how it turns up this year WC. 2011 included a few mistakes that led to a huge loss.
Indeed......just look at the stupid Australians.....0 wins. LOL.They let the U.S. win a 1 game just in case the countries in that group wouldn't get invaded/attacked by the U.S. terrorist arm forces.
Hahahahahaha USA were so confident and tey got kicked lol......Before the
match I read on the news countless times how the US said they wil eat
belgium up
I knew something was not right somewhere
Im From Belgium We Fucked You Americans In The Ass Too Many Talent In Our

HAHAHAHA IN THE FACE OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You Got Knocked The
Fucked You Cant Play Soccer Just Eat Some Burgers Hhahaha Belgie De Gouden
Generatie Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Soccer is all you got. Hahaha you do know fat people are mostly composed of lower classes. Hamburgers well I'm not much of a fan of that. How does it feel that you could only score 2 goals on ONE MAN when you had like 26 chances ? Hahaha it could've been like 26-1 lol. You guys played horribly on the group stage and the USA gave it there all but you only beat them by ONE GOAL ahhahaha sooooo impressive. This isn't basketball,American football, hockey, baseball where Americans dominate. Soccer is the only thing you guys can claim as great hahah pathetic.
