There is a lot of people commenting here, that has no idea of the
differences between a regular R8 or Dacia and a REAL GORDINI. There are so
many small things on the body and suspension. On the Engine you can say
only the outside of the block is the same. Gordiniengine has a crossflow
head and hemi with ejectionchannels to the sparkplugs for bigger valves etc
etc etc, so it may look almost the same but the performance of Everything
aint anything you can compare at all. 5-speed gearbox, 4 shockabsorbers in
the rear, steeringgear is 2,4 instead of 3,2, that is only a few things
mentioned that are different from the stock R8 and Dacia. Best regards from
a since 1973 and still Gordiniowner and ex-R8 owner :D
OK You are right I was thinking at Renault 8 not taking into account that Gordini is different. The first Dacia cars were Renault cars assembled in Romania. The transition until Dacia was produced 100% in Romania with parts made in Romania took several years with Renault engineers overlooking the project.
+WhiskyPentruFete I´m sorry but you´ve obviously got some details wrong, yes the Dacia has the same bodywork as the regular Renault R8. But the Gordini was a model built for competition and looks almost the same on the outside but has a lot of things that is different. That is also why the prices are much much higher for the Gordiniversion. I dont have anything against the Dacias and regular Renault R8 but Gordinis are Gordinis
+GordiniSten The very first Dacia cars produced in Romania were no different than Gordini's. You could even see on the dash were Renault logo was removed and replaced with Dacia. They were just assembled in Romania Later on, the Dacia was produced with parts made in Romania and the main priority was to keep a low cost and the differences that you mentioned appeared.Having said that, as french love their Gordini's, romanians are still nostalgic and love the old Dacia's 1100. After all that cars survived on very though roads. To bring it to the present times wheather you like it or not Renault who owns Dacia is using the same engine and transmissions across both brands.Example: Renault Clio and Dacia Sandero are using the same range of engines:1.2 petrol, 0.9 TCE or 1.5 DCI.
