The majority of people who play the Meta are just compensating for their
lack of true skill where you actually have to think to win. I do believe
there are MANY "rogue" decks that can be extremely fun AND competitive
(Best of both worlds). I play Mecha Phantom Beasts and although it's an
absolutely terrible matchup against Qliphorts, I can duel circles around
any other deck for days. I'd rather have a lot of fun and be Tier 2 than be
bored as hell and win win win.
Personally my favorite decks in no real order are: Crystal Beasts,
Performapals, Batteryman, Neo-Spacians, Morphtronics, Cloudians,
Photons/Galaxy & Gustos.
Personally you should play what you Genuinely like. Don't play decks
because they are top tier. I'm sure there are people out there who
genuinely like decks like Qliphorts & Burning abyss and I can respect that,
but I feel most people are playing these decks are just trying to win and
That's no fun. Winning isn't what matters, having fun is. Its just a game
after all.
I know a guy who personally retired his Qliphort deck because he had 5 dudes quit dueling after he creamed them in tournaments in the past month alone. He didn't like how many people raged, and in all honesty he wasn't that much into them himself, so he decided to only play it in friendlies.
Thing is... I now understand both the meta and casual sides of YuGiOh. I've
always been a casual player, but I tried playing the meta earlier this year
and I can see why people enjoy it with the challenging scenes and the
strive to win, but for me it was far to stressful and got boring very
quickly, versing the same decks over and over again. This is not what I
want out of a game that is supposed to be my hobby, casual play is
definitely for me because I can relax more, whilst having a good laugh and
fun duels with my friends without caring too much about things like a +1 or
a -1, I just don't care. Not to forget the massive variety of decks we can
play like Crystal Beasts, Fluffals, Volcanics, Evil Heros, Aliens and many
other fun decks. But as I said before, I can see both the merits each side
of the game offers, but for a hobby, I much prefer casual play :)
As do I. I went to a $1 tournament in which I had zero knowledge on the crowd who usually showed up last year. Come to find out, it was the regional champs in my area who went there for practice rounds and both my friend and I, who didn't even use our #1 decks thinking "Hey, a $1 tourney! What could possibly go wrong?". We found out what could go wrong in October of '13 - Spellbooks. Two brothers who ran the same deck card for card destroyed us and any hopes of victory. I couldn't complain too much, I got Bahamut in a trade from 1 of them. Anyway, what I learned is that if you're gonna play in a tournament, better bring your best. If you're playing for shiggles, screw the meta and have fun!
i hate what yugioh has become, everything is meta these days, old cards r
forgotten and see no play, i wish konami would change up the game and rules
"say limit all cards to 1 card of the same name per deck instead of 3" to
make it more fun and not just make it easy for a player to ss his ace
monster 1st turn and set 3 mirror force, omg. balance the game with rules
and stop making op cards every new booster pack to counter the previous
pack
Correction: Older cards see no play until some tier 1 deck comes along and abuses one of them to the point that they DO get noticed. Example of this: Kaiser Colosseum and Bujins. Also, a lot of the super overpowered cards on the ban list are older cards.
great job on this video i only play fun decks because i find "Meta" Decks
way too boring and complicated plus it fun to get my opponent get confused
because they don't what my deck actually does :P
+Justin Moser woah all of your decks sounds so cool! and i play a lot of different decks like a synchron deck mainly in duels but i also play a warrior deck, Reptilianne Deck, Skull servant deck, naturia lockdown deck, melodious, fortune ladies, EVOLS and i love Jurrac decks that one of my favourite arctypes ^_^
I play so many. My main ones are vampires and evil twins (Dark Armed Dragon, Darknight Parshath, ect), Cybernetic Revolution 2.0 (Upgraded with some of the best outside-of-structure deck support there is out there), Saga of Blue Eyes Chapter II (Upgraded with a lot of good stuff, including Dragon's Mirror, 5-Headed Dragon, and more!), and a Heinz 57 composed of 2 Performapal Pendulums, 3 non-archetypal Pendulums, Bounzers, Dragons, DInos, and Evilswarms. I also got a lot of side projects and structure decks (Some altered, some not due to integrity of deck quality). Currently I'm looking to beef up my homemade Gemini deck, my Xyz-Heavy ocean deck, create a deck involving Cyber Ogres (Really retro and kind of odd, but yeah lol) and make a new twist on a venom deck involving pendulums. What about you?
Favorite deck currently, God-Narchs Favorite deck I've ever used, Chaos
Dragons back when REDMD was at 3 and the Dragons Collide deck came out.
Worst deck currently, PePe(aka Piss water). Worst deck of all time, Mist
Valley Gustos, Fuck you and your Apex Avian bullshit.
+Creeping Death No, it means he hasn't dueled any decent Mist Valley players. Why run a deck that is completely full of Wind attribute Winged Beasts and not run probably the most powerful/most broken Wind attribute Winged Beast in the game.
It's the original theme song for america yugi the first series. The long version.

abridged episodes.
Are you gay?
No just British XD
+ssjwesley lol oh right XD Guessing my Yugioh Abridged knowledge is a bit lacking. And will definitely try to give Seven Deadly Sins a watch when i can (Y)
Tgs anime it is from the abridged version too, bakura(i think) was British and everyone was taunting him saying he is gay, but he allway refuses saying that he isnt gay just british. And you have to watch the Seven Deadly sins it is such an awesome shonen.
+ssjwesley lol i was with you till that last bit XD in order: 1. I Hope to make another Anime Episode soon as i can. 2. I haven't started watching Seven deadly sins yet but maybe in the future. 3. I am watching Gangsta and i am enjoying it so far, very unique having a deaf main character. 4. I too hope littlekuriboh keeps making abridged episodes but i think hes being struggling a lot lately with being in hospital and his depression. 5.Not sure where the gay thing came from but unfortunately I'm not gay lol just Britrish as you say.
Watch them revamp this card series with a card as they did with volcanics,
making this card actually viable to use and then watch it have some sort of
op deck use it as some did with the blaze magazine card and make top 8 or
something with perfectly ultimate great moth.
+Klik'ssi Ikub'ra yep vs obelisk force... no wonder why that guy lost, he was using that card... -_-

Psychology studies have been done and the conclusion of them support that people that take pleasure in other people's pain enjoy it b/c it lowers the person in pain to the level of the person who is inflicting pain on them. Thats some High School BullshitPersonally I play yugioh for the sake of getting a challenge and improving, not for the W.
Yugioh is about whatever the duelist in question wants it to be.You get to compete with your own deck and simply participate in an enjoyable game.Of course losing doesnt feel good but you gain something from losing. I'm sorry that you have such a dull opinion of what yugioh is about.
+knes167 What are you talking about? lol seeing the rage on someone's face after they lose to exodia after one turn is the most fun you can possibly have in yugioh
