Trek 2012 Remedy 9 Mountain Bike Review at Manly Dam Australia
Following on from the 2011 Trek Remedy 9 review, we put the 2012 Trek Remedy 9 through its paces at the Manly Dam. This bike is full of great features and the ...
I find that hard to believe as I had the 2011 model (without front fork
DRCV) and the current 2012 model (with), it is a lot smoother and you can
hit things harder and with more speed. I can only state from my insight and
my mates who have, we are all impressed. I have ridden it at 2 All Mountain
races and he hasn't kept me off the podium. I am almost 52 and I need all
the help I can get and this shock system keeps me tracking smoothly. I
would suggest a Trek Demo session and see for yourself.
Hey Nigel, just letting you know that you do an excellent job on reviewing
mountain bikes and that you have really helped me out. I am only 14 years
old and I am just getting to love cycling( mountain riding in particular).
As I am not very experienced in what is the right buy, your video's have
helped me slot. As I am not legally liable for a paid job, I can only
afford a cheaper, more beginner bike. Just thanking you for your great
work. Keep it up! Harry
for people wondering about the difference between the Remedy and Fuel Ex, i
have been riding a Fuel Ex 5 for 3 years and it has performed wonderfully
on most all terrain. A high end Fuel Ex is similar to the Remedy but a
little less beefy. A Fuel Ex would handle this trail just fine but probably
couldnt be pushed as hard as the Remedy. If you are a more aggressive rider
who wants to push the limits get a Remedy. if you are a little less so go
for a Fuel
I've not heard many good reviews from actual owners of the DRCV suspension.
I was very interested in purchasing this bike, but due to many owners'
reviews about DRCV I think I'll stay away from Trek for the time being.
Lots of not so candid reviews on mtbr.com forums. I used to own a 2008 Fuel
EX 8 bike, which was an awesome bike, but looks like this new suspension
isn't well accepted by many new owners. Nice video though.
Nigel. Great Vid! I lived in Sydney about three years ago and riding Manly
Dam really got me back into MTB. Not quite to the extent of 4ft drops but
getting there. I got a bit misty eyed watching. Its a great fun course with
so much variation mud, sand, rock, climbs, descents I would give my eye
teeth for a rip round again in the sunshine with a few buddies. Keep up the
good work!
Thank you so much Nigel for giving us a proper review on a very proper
trail where the Remedy seems to be right at home. You are riding this bike
like it should be ridden on a very appropriate trail. Ive seen too many
videos of people riding bikes like the Remedy on flat featureless terrain
and expect to give a solid review. THANKS BUDDY GO TREK
Galicia
Nice review and all true, two extras: - I think Trek should have specced a
slippery pole on it. With a Fox doss [like mine] or similar it really helps
the flow that this bike is capable of. - the front end isn't as stiff as my
'08 was with a Lyric. Buy a '36 or Slash for the BIG days.
How would the Top Fuel respond on this exact same ride? What compromises
and/or limitations would be inherent with the Top Fuel on this exact same
ride? Would the Top Fuel be a better choice than the Remedy if flat trail
surfaces were more commonly encountered in my rides? Thanks!
Thanks Sparx, appreciate your feedback and we do take the reviews
seriously. Wait until we unleash the 2013 Remedy and Slash review, we have
put these bikes through some serious action in very unforgiving terrain,
stay tuned for later in January....awesome!
:) That's what I want! I'me shure remedy will handle good on some
Avalanches :) Wich year is your Fuel? mine ins 2009. But i'm also watching
for Canyon Strive esx 9.0 SL. Cheaper, and better components. but worse
warranty :(
Scraped my arm pretty bad flying carelessly down the rocks near the end of
the course, that's what probably happens when you have little experience
with those rocks. I tell you what it's intense at some parts
Small world. I was the guy that stopped last saturday. When you had the
flat tyre and were having issues with your new pump!. Nice video. Where is
the drop off at the dam? I have never seen drop offs
How does one choose between the top model REMEDY and the top model TOP
FUEL? If some of you could define the terrain and specified use for each
design, that would be most appreciated.
nice ride. assult was an over statment imo. if you want to see bad ass
riding look at line of sight movie/documentry and my fav YT channel GCinDC
he is boss.
+Jonathan Barzacchini Thanks for watching! We had a blast! We are def going to do more like this again.
