I wood suggest UDAP brand pepper spray and a firearm. One of the best things to do when confronted with an assailant is to use your own voice by using strong verbal commands such as BACK OFF! or the F word version. Unfortunately like car alarms personal alarms are often ignored when set off. Active resistance and strong verbal commands convey to an attacker that you mean business. The TV show Extra did a segment where they tested a stun gun, personal alarm and pepper spray. The pepper spray by far was most effective. The stun gun was not effective and when they set off he personal alarm for 5 minutes not one person came to help.

Is it easy to pull the pin out? I'm a college student and I will be staying in a dorm for the first time next year (Lives with my parents for the first 2) and I'm taking some night classes. Here were have a system where corp members could walk us to our dorms but even then they could be bad (I really hope they wouldn't be though). If is is easy to pull out I don't know if I would get it. I don't want it to go off when it is in my purse or something.

I carry a similar device with me anytime I leave my apartment. Because while you rarely if ever hear stories of blind folks like myself being mugged that in no way means it never happens. Unfortunately I don't believe mine has the dumby button. It just has the pin. But I always ware mine in such a way that even if someone did manage to get it away from me they would almost certainly end up setting it off in the process.

Hi there. Thanks for your comment. The best part about this SMS controller is that it can be use to control any electrical appliences with some proper driver or relays. It can also monitor your house alarm. Once your alarm sound, it will send an SMS to inform you. Your immagination is the limit.....cheers.

Hi. Yeah. But over here, our SMS is free for certain package we sign up. However, you can also use the incoming call to control. But the I/O is highly unpredictable. Cheers.

anyone know a modern phone with serial comms? I know its 3v ttl but not all phones have it, last i used was t68i but the phones are getting rare and they lock up randomly
