aviator259I enjoy it too, but they're also concerned about player safety. You never know what some drunk idiot is going to do, it's a problem waiting to happen from the league standpoint.
James Jackson But that's stupid, because for how slow and boring the game can be, this could be the only entertaining part of the whole game. Also, if it lasts for a little longer than a minute, word would get around of what's going on, which means it would spike the viewers for a sec and the ratings which means more money. And professional sports revolve around money and finances and this might get the popularity up. I know that this is a ridiculous solution, but this is just a related idea. Think of it like this, fighting in hockey has made the sport 20 times more popular than it could of been without fighting. We all know fighting is wrong and shouldn't be encouraged, but they still show it on tv and people LOVE IT (including me)!
aviator259 But they don't want people watching TV to be stoked seeing people on the field. That's the whole point. They're trying to take way the incentive.
Musicrecords10 It's also because they don't want to "reward" the fan by giving him what he wants -- to be seen by millions of people on TV -- Don't want to glorify that sort of behaviour and encourage other people to do the same.
VenthosAE Actually there is, of a sort. I don't think it is written down but fans who run on the field are never shown on camera because to do so would give them the attention (most) of them crave. I say most because there was that robber who was trying to get away from police. I think he was happy to stay off camera.
