Green ume are poisonous. so why the hell do they sell them?! There will
always be someone who doesn't know, how do you know I wasn't about to bite
into one during this video. And the end was kinda creepy..
I've heard many people call green things "ao", which translates as blue.
I've heard it said that there is no Japanese word for green, but my
Japanese teacher taught us to use "midori". Of course, that was nearly 30
years ago, so maybe the language changed? It confuses me.
I don't know if it is true, but I have read there didn't use to be a word that means green and that they were one colour, blue and green. In reality, ao is used for a lot of natural, fresh, vegetables or fruit like substances but it doesn't really explain why they call a green light a blue light.
Japan Travel-Ome's Tamagawa River and Famous Ume Sweet Treats 青梅の多摩川と梅大福
We're back in Ome to give you a tour of the tranquil Tamagawa River and a review of their famous Ume Daifuku ( Japanese Rice Flour Sweets with Plum ) treats.
Those Ume Daifuku looked delicious! Are they sold throughout the year in
Ome or just in spring? Could you give me a recommendation where to buy them
in Ome or is it easy to find a good place?
+GoldenSun1986 They can be purchased all year long but they do sell out quite fast. You can find these types of ume daifuku treats all over Ome. The easiest thing to do is to check at tourist information and ask there. Here is the store we went to in Ome but they only have a Japanese website. //umedaifuku.com/Let us know when you plan on visiting so we can do some research for you as well. Happy holidays!
