Cartier's booth is the largest one of the SIHH by far – which is only fair since the Geneva-based icon is also the most prolific watchmaker there. Last year, for ...
+Andrew Steel Very interesting comment, your comparison is very pertinent!!
Palmetto State Armory 16" CHF Mid-Length Lightweight Complete Upper Assembly
Un-boxing and inspecting a PSA middy 'lightweight cold hammer forged' upper in 5.56 NATO caliber. I point out Some interesting features that were not on my ...
The Mlock system looks like a good option. The upper shown in this video is on my main rifle now, I love that rifle! I recently completed it and posted a vid about it (see the BCM unboxing vid). I was thinking of doing a detailed overview vid of each one of my rifles maybe I should do that? I'm very happy with how they turned out:) Thanks for watching
I ordered this same upper. Waiting anxiously until it arrives. What are
your thoughts on it thus far? Also, I want to replace the hand guard, but
am curious to know what the length is? Is it an even 9 inches?
It's kind of ironic, but the charging handle that came with this upper turned out to be defective and I had to exchange it. I found out later when I went to use it for my pistol build. That is the first time I have ever bough a part from PSA that was out of spec, but they took care of me of course. Thank you for watching!
I have a similar CHF upper from PSA, but mine is the medium profile barrel
diameter. Awesome quality stuff coming out of that company in SC. I
recently removed the polymer handguard & A2 front sight for a free float
rail. My rifle is quite a bit lighter after the mods.
Very nice. I like to build my own uppers usually but I wanted a basic non-floated 'patrol' style rifle for this and I didn't want to install the front sight post since I don't have the proper tools. I'm happy with it, but the floated barrel will def have more accuracy potential. Happy shooting bro and thank you for watching
449.99 shipped complete. There will be some great deals on black friday and that whole weekend I'm guessing and they will have more uppers of all types
Why Floating a Rifle Barrel Increaes Accuracy
Floating a rifle barrel isn't magic. In this video from The Survival Podcast //www.thesurvivalpodcast.com we discuss why floating increases accuracy and the ...
crap free floating barrels are crap . attach the damn thing as tight as you
can get it to the stock in the past barrels were never free floated today
they are because when a barrel heats up it could melt a shity plastic stock
Hello Levi, my name is Champ! I will be your internet tour guide today on you very first journey through public information. I know your parents will be worried about you when we leave the safety of the nest for the first time, but I assure you everything will be swell :) Rule #1 in Internet-land is....say it with me children... FACTS!!!! YayyyyyyyyyThat's right facts rule the Internet, and so before we go running our stinky little mouths, what do we do?we fact check :) :) yes that's right class. Your homework tonight is to look up the invention of ballistics, how and when it started. And my bonus question is........Define rifling :)See you tomorrow class
No need to dryfire that rifle to take tension off of the spring. Lift the
bolt now pull the trigger and keep it depressed while you close the bolt.
This will unload the spring while not having to dryfire.
how does sliding the piece of paper under the barrel prove that it won't
impact the stock after a shot is fired? is it reasonable to assume that
the maximum magnitude of barrel displacement will be less than the
thickness of the piece of paper?
Actually no that isn't reasonable. It is a solid piece of highly engineered steel and it isn't like a wet noodle when fired. Additionally is as I explained is more about pressure points on the barrel at time of discharge then something impacted after discharge. The bullet to be blunt leaves the muzzle awfully quickly.
+Jack Spirko Sorry to tell you but IIDASHII is right about the definitions being different. A 3 inch group in the center of the target is ACCURATE but not PRECISE, while a 1 inch group a foot to the right of the target is PRECISE but not ACCURATE. Basically accuracy = how close the center of the group is to the target, and precision = the size of the grouping itself.
And what have you proven? That you can make wild claims and back them up with hurried insults and diffusion? I'm only matching you, not trying to one up you :P
+Jonathan Vance Delusional? LOL. Is that an option you generally throw around at people you know nothing about? And you call me narrow minded? You are a funny guy. What I said is true. No insult you can throw changes that, and if you want to keep typing up "clever" replies, be my guest. You'll be conversing with yourself.
Proper is subjective, relating to intended audience and the common understood usage of related terms to that audience. Your state of mind is either absurdly narrow or plain delusional.
Nice angry outburst about pretentious technical usage of terms, guy. Lose your Xanax? But they are clearly and indisputably synonyms in common English usage by every accepted standard unless you are using your own made up language. There's also no firearm "science" manual that makes these draconian word restrictions you seem to be obsessing about. It's in your head, please seek help.
+Jonathan Vance They are not synonyms by ANY definition. As applied to shooting, accuracy is the ability to hit what one is aiming at (i.e. shooting a bulls-eye). Precision is the measure of how much error there is in the system one is using (i.e. shot grouping of a rifle). This is not nitpicking. They are measures of two completely different things, and anyone who has taken a basic science course would know that.
Those two words are synonyms in virtually every definition. What are you trying to nitpick?
PSA SS fluted upper review
Here's a review of a Palmetto State Armory build using one of their more expensive uppers. It was the SS fluted 1/8 twist 223 wylde chambered barreled upper ...
+JOSEPH M Yes, as a matter of fact I have. The scope seen in the video was a pos. Although it seemed nice at first, the reticle started twisting inside the scope, good thing it wasn't pricey. I noticed Amazon doesn't carry it any longer, probably got a lot of returns or something. I learned a lesson on that. I still don't have a high dollar scope on it at the moment, it's an old Russian 8x56 scope I've had for years, but it has good glass, is very sturdy, and holds zero.
Hey, that's a nice rifle I just purchased the 18 inch and plan on a simular
build. I like the backup sights you have. when I follow your link the ones
on amazon don't have the orange on the front sight. Was it like that when
you bought it or did you install that?
+Sonny Boy //palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ar15-18-rifle-length-223-wylde-1-7-stainless-15-keymod-upper-no-bcg-or-charging-handle.html. this is the one that's on palmetto right now. It is the most simular 18 inch theu have. Different companies make different parts of it.
+J Lo thanks. No, I added that orange sight on it from some I had. Just a plastic A2 front sight post kit, came with a few different colors I think. Your rifle should be sweet with the 18 inch barrel, I wanted the 18 inch, but they didn't have it in stock when I ordered and didn't want to wait, lol.
+Nathan Cedeno Thanks. It is a nice upper. It has a Rock River Arms 2 stage trigger in it now, shoots even nicer I think. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Nice gun. I agree with your priorities for your first one. I've bought a
couple of Colts with Magpul furniture and put together a few PSA rifles
too. Just got the CHF 14.7" with the SQR rail. Nice clean, minimalist look.
PEOPLE - DO NOT BE FOOLED.. We will not be able to purchase guns freely for
much longer. Not to sound alarmist, but the Federal government is moving to
make buying firearms almost impossible. Take advantage of the low prices
and ability to buy. Regret (especially when it was easy to prevent) is a
terrible feeling. Long live the republic.
Yeah I don't anticipate high volume shooting either. My typical range day is about 150-200 rounds over an hour or so.. Actually really looking forward to getting the upper. After standard Magpul furniture on 4 rifles, this will be my first rifle with a metal hand guard. It just had the 4 things I didn't have on any other rifles - 1) SQR rail 2) mid-length gas system 3) 14.5" barrel and 4) CHF barrel. Plus it will be my first black colored rifle (After FDE, foliage green, OD green, and stealth gray) I'm stoked :)..
+Keith Brandson all you said is very true, completely agree. As for the rail, I haven't noticed any issues of it getting hot, but then I haven't done a lot of high volume shooting either.
+darink300zx Awesome. Yeah putting together a nice multi-purpose modern semi-automatic firearm for around $5-600 is great. Have you had any issues with the rail getting warm/hot after shooting it a lot? That's the only thing I've read as a potential concern, although that is probably just in really high volume shooting. People talk about investing in gold, silver, etc.. But you can't eat 'precious' metals and you can't protect yourself with them either. Just the opposite. And how easy will it be to buy a loaf of bread or a chicken with gold? From strictly an investment standpoint, a $500 investment in a firearm will easily double or triple at the first sign of any trouble. Not even including the incalculable value of the pure utility (self-defense, food gathering, fun, etc.) I read another guy's signature line with which I agree - "AR-15s are strong medicine; otherwise there wouldn't be such a demonizing and focused and well funded effort on taking them away.." Peace out.
Thanks for the comment. I agree with you as well. We are in a buyers market right now especially in regards to ar15's and if you can afford it, buy em. Since this video I've put together three more ar15's and still have another stripped lower in the safe waiting for it to be built. One of the ar15's I built recently I have 440 bucks in, and it shoots great.
+Ralph Cooper I haven't got the SS dissipator, but I do have one of the standard barrel dissipators from Palmetto, sku1917. It's a nice rifle. I need to put it up on here and show some video of it in action. It has functioned flawlessly. As to your inquiry, my understanding is that in general a SS barrel will give slightly better accuracy over a chrome lined barrel or such.
I have a psa multi caliber lower with a pistol buffer tube. I want to build
it into a rifle. Psa has a complete upoer I want with an 18" fluted ss
barrel and also an acs-l lower build kit.I am saving up for them. So same
rifle with 2" more barrel. I cant wait.
+Forrest Warren Yeah, I kinda wish I'd held out for an 18 inch upper like this to come up for sale. I like this one quite a bit though. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
