To install the boot you don't have to slid it over the entire tie rod, just
the lip of the ball joint at the steering rack end. He fed the entire tie
rod through it, which accomplishes the same thing, but is not necessary. In
the end he still had to stretch it over the lip. Penetrating oil is a
Porsche mechanics friend. Allocate time for penetrating oil penetration...
I'm talking days depending on what part you are removing. In this case, cut
theold boot off, spray threads and let soak for a while.

great watching someone else fighting the tie rod install, I did one side
yesterday and have been looking all morning to find an easier way to do the
other side. I have an extra 32mm wrench I think im going to grind down to
tighten the new one down.. had not heard about putting the lock tight or
rip ties on. thanks

I have even seen this done on Chevy Siliverado Trucks New from the
factory....it works , its easy....what else can be said
