Good review. The real test will be in 6"+ of the slushy stuff.
Screw the haters who think all season is no season. UHP all seasons are not
the same as all seasons were 10-15 years ago. In the Midwest, Chicago
especially, the weather is too unpredictable to be switching rims on a
moments notice.. 60* in Dec one day, 32* the next... UHP-AS for the win!
I've had Ultra high performance all seasons on my ST2 for 3+yr, and they
work excellent.
Check out "Jere my " page for a better video of the exhaust.
Mazdaspeed 3 vs Ninja 250 CLOSE RACE (with crazy wheelspin and launch)
My friend and i playing around speed on snow tires in 60 degree weather 250-baffles removed Speed 3- intake, catback, bpv, rmm TAGS: Nissan, Bugatti, ...
Even just talking about straight line speed i really doubt that you have
"mastered" it. pinning the throttle and learning how to quickly clutch
shift is far from it. learning how to just launch a bike right will take
you close to that long. not even including clutchless up shifting, rev
matching downshifts. proper body position based on speed. Something you
probably havent learned, even though your a master, is at high speeds
slightly lifting you ass off the seat will give you an extra few mph
The fact the you say u have mastered any part of riding in 3 months blows
my mind. unless you have been taking extensive high performance riding
classes several times a week. its people like you that cause our insurance
to be so damn high. I call it "busa syndrome". its when you hit a straight
and take off. then don't realize that there is a turn at the end and mash
the brakes. and either dump the bike from tire skid or cant get slowed down
enough and botch the turn and end up in a ditch.
Blah blah blah, I read millions of threads where people said you should
start on a 250/500. Listen, if you paid anything over 1500$ for a 250, YOU
HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF. My first bike is a 600, already had previous mods on
it. The thing smoked a 911 Turbo by three car lengths. Anyways, The first
few weeks, I respect the 600, I knew it had enough power to kill me. So I
respected it, and now 3 months down the road, I can say I have mastered it
down, and in a year im looking to get a 1000.
why u hatin? i rode my buds 2012 ninja 250 and its a nice little bike, just
because it doesnt run 9s and barely breaks 100mph it still has its spot. i
just sold my honda 650 and im looking for a ninja 500, i really didnt use
all 70hp and the MPG wasnt that great. this ninja 250 runs alot better than
any 250 dirtbike, it revs up to like 15k so i would say a 250cc dirtbike is
more of a "pussy bike". but then again unless you are racing moto who
really cares, its not like its a Prius.
haha I laugh at all the 250 haters. I have one of the older ones it gets
60-70mpg depending on your driving and gearing, $10 in gas does fill it up
and $7 a month for insurance and it will go 105 mph depending on road
conditions and can be modded to go around 115 mph. I think it's funny when
everyone goes and gets a 600 or litre bike especially for their first bike
and you always see those people again later with their bikes wrecked and
their body scarred all up lol idiots.
first off u must have never seen a 600/1000 bike race. litres have power
all through their power bands and easily take a jump before they even
really get into the excessive amount of HP they have in comparison. second,
I had a ninja 650r and my buddy 250r. we would trade bikes frequently on
rides for shits. I would constantly leave his ass behind because of the gap
in rider experience, even though the bike he was riding had triple the HP
As far as track riding goes, I reckon if you're pussy footing around a 600
supersport you're not learning as much as you would on a weaker bike. Noobs
on fast bikes on track days are amazingly bad, I was overtaking so many on
my 250R in the slow group, and even in the medium slow group a lot of them
hold me up on my 55 hp supermoto. It's no competition on the straights, but
they chicken out while braking and cornering.
That's pretty good. Slightly better than what one review I read stated. I
wish I would've test ridden the Ninja before buying the CBR just to know
the differences between the two. Having had only a safety course before
purchasing my bike though I just picked the thumper and rode it straight
home. Now 400 miles later I'd like just a tad more passing power and want a
bigger bike.
Actually I own a suzuki 1200cc and it only takes $10 to full up my tank and
my insurance is only about $200 for a year. So really your bike is all
around slower for the same gas price and an extra $100 a year. Those people
that are paying more insurance for bigger bikes either have a lot of
tickets or are with the wrong insurance company. I once paid $600/yr for a
250cc
hahaaha you've mastered a 600? in 3 months? once again, ahahahahaahahahaha.
If you really want to improve at riding, buy a 250 and take to a track as
often as you can. I guarantee you will learn more by doing that than you
did by "mastering" your 600. You probably won't listen to me though, so why
not just buy the liter bike now and speed up natural selection?
i've owned a 350 for a year now, and i've ridden a 600.... i would
definately say the 600 is harder to ride and is more impressive to see
someone push hard than a 250. the really impressive thing is when someone
on a 250 passes you on your 600... thats always painful to bear... and
kinda sad... not that it happens or anything...
it really depends where you live man, the more curves the bigger chance you
get hurt on a bigger bike.. you've far from mastered a 600.. takes years of
trackdays.. Go to the track(twisty not drag) and you'll see what I mean. I
know people that start on Busa's here in michigan where its straight and
they are doing just fine..
In my opinion, you should get whatever bike you like. Its only going to go
as fast as you make it go. If you cant control your hand, you don't need
any bike at all. I got a vette as my first car, people said its too quick
of a first car. Little did they know, I dont have leg seizures and im able
keep it at a speed limit.
People hate, in the state where this vid was taken you don't need more than
a 250 or 500 around town bc the roads are soo twisty, but in MI i know
people that start on Busa's bc the roads are str8 as hell.. new 250 looks
great, handles great and gets good gas mileage.. Let them hate
depends get a bike not classified as a Super-sport, and most the time your
fine, but get like a Zx-6R and you'll be closer to like 350$/month with
defensive courses etc, and you can go a little bit lower from that, but not
much. It is crazy how badly they hit "Super-Sport"
Mate, i went from a 125cc (15bhp) to a 500cc (57bhp i think) in one step,
and i can say now that i think its too big of a step. Going straight to a
600 is stupid, people would get hurt. and i dont know how the laws are in
america but id definitely say get a 250 if you can
I rode a 2nd gen. They are a hoot. if i had to just own one bike it would
be the fz1.. It does everything so well and the torque is everywhere. Great
choice. The zx12r I grabbed does everything worse except for when it comes
to speed. But damn does it do that well
There is no way to ride a sport bike and not to brake the rules...does not
matter if it is a 250r or a zx6, ONE WILL BE BREAKING THE RULES ALL THE
TIME. That is the nature of sport bikes. If you can ride a sport bike and
do not brake the rules, YOU ARE THE IDIOT!
never underestimate the ninja 250, i rode with the MSQ gang this week and a
guy from quebec on a ninja 250r followed an aprillia RSV4 ridden by a 15
years old of experience guy who do trackday on a curvy road. i would never
believed it if i wasn't there.
Hollllyyy shit. The comprehensive insurance on my KTM 640 Supermoto is
around $350 per year in Aus. In the UK my FZS600 was $900 per year (2:1
conversion at the time) because it was a high theft city (Bristol). I think
I'll steer clear of supersports.
Why does he have to risk his life racing something faster? To prove what,
that 250's aren't fast? Everyone who rides, knows that 250's are not
something to compare power to, Good on gas and handing sure, but don't get
all pissy cause the truth hurts.
I am curious as to what you are implying with that comment, i see that the
other guy had some attitude with the "nuff said" part, but he does have a
point. most bikes 500cc and up are enough to beat out the more common
supercars..
By three car lenghts!!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!! No actually I'm not excited,
there's just one more idiot on the web. Someone doesn't understand any
physics. Otherwise you would know that statement is meaningless with no
context.
that's not just any car..4 "cyl" but its a MPS 260 hp Mazda..not your
regular rabbit with 50 hp...the scooter would be obliterated at both
highway fuel consumption , speed, turns ,brakes and acceleration, not to
mention STYLE
I would also like to say...... this driver sucks.... To burn through first
and second with a MS3? Learn how to launch. I understand these are snow
tires, but mashing the gas as hard as you can isn't doing any justice.
