Hi Chris...
Thanks man... You have just made it very clear now.... I was struggling to
understand the use or need of the central store.
So bascially if you had a Google Chrome policy computers wouldnt apply them
unless they had that same policy in their local ADMX store ?
Now that we use a central store and the Chrome ADMX file is located there
all computers will apply this as they are using the central store ??
What would happen if we upgrade from server 2008R2 to server 2012... Would
server 2012 know to upgrade the PolicyDefinitions Folder in the Sysvol
Central Store ???
Thanks
Active Directory policies are pretty standard on all machines. In Server
2008, you can create custom active directory policies. If you have a new
software that requires certain settings, then you can create a policy that
applies to that new software. The other computers and servers won't have
that policy unless you create a CENTRAL STORage location for those
policies. With the central store, computers quit referencing their local
store, because it doesn't have the custom policies. Make sense?
