I'm with you - I sell automotive books and memorabilia and sales have dropped off significantly these past few months at a time when I expected them to pick up for the end of the year.  I review my pricing regularly and drop my prices over time, but it's getting ridiculous when I have to sell things too cheap to recoup my time just to get them to move.

+donald lewis Have you tried the actual USPS sight for your tracking? I've had in the past seen where it shows there and not on eBay. The only other thing is to go to the post office and inquire, this sometimes helps.

+donald lewis I hate to say this but I dropped off 14 Priority packages yesterday and they were scanned, only 12 have shown up so far. Depending on the area of the country you're in is the service you get. The 12 that show also didn't get uploaded to Ebay until the next day.

Difference is this is not first class this is Priority Mail it would have been scanned I use the post office for everything I sell on ebay and its scanned on the spot

+donald lewis Ummm. You think your seller has NOT shipped.  I think he/she HAS shipped.  NOT seeing scans means practically nothing. You are drawing UNWARRANTED conclusions from the mere fact that YOU are not seeing the TRACKING as yet having begun.  I have multiple experiences on EXACTLY this same situation.  I LOVE the post office, but they are DARN INCONSISTENT on when  Where and HOW QUICKLY they begin tracking any particular package. I have MAILED thru REAL post office first class PayPal labeled packages that made it all the way from Houston to California such that the ONLY tracking reports were ARRIVAL at the FINAL delivery post office and DELIVERY at the buyer's house.  Three Days in transit without ANY other scans.  Not my post office, Not the Central Sorting Center in Houston, never.   I've also had INCOMING packages to me that DID ship immediately from Colorado and POPPED up on my Front Porch in Houston 3 days later that NEVER scanned even though the boxes had the RIGHT PayPal shipping label glued right to them.

Well I didn't say you lol but the company I'm currently dealing with still hasn't shipped my item and it's been more than 2 days I'm going to assume they will be shipping out tomorrow but the item was paid for on Wednesday so not only was it not ship Thursday it also was not shipped Friday but the label was created the day I paid

with all due respect, I am one of "those" people who ship within one day, often same day, and this means actually going to the post office, I do not have a " USPS carrier pickup " I can trust. and as far as "hating" because all we do in print a label you are SO wrong. eBay yes informs buyer you printed label but if the CARRIER does not scan it in within 24 hrs it counts against me.  I actually shipped on Sunday (yesterday) a holiday wk end, at a Post Office w Sunday hours to be sure the buyer gets the item asap - it is what I would expect when shopping online, and eBay is WORK, hard WORK, and you could not be more wrong about being able to get away w waiting 3 days to ship... bottom line, it is a business and I work it like a professional.

+Tom Taylor I finally found it. I am at 32% and most of them probably are the ones that paid 2 or 3 times for the same item or made multiple purchases because their cell phone is a piece of crap with 1 bar on it and it keeps losing signals while trying to buy! My suggestion to ALL eBay buyers??? Get the hell off the phone and go to a PC to purchase! It is more secure and less likely you will make errors purchasing! :)

Jennifer, I agree with all you stated. I am almost at the point of not caring about the discount and screw the "Be A Good Boy" on eBay while they are brewing up more ways to yank the discount proverbial rug out from under you. My current selling account on eBay is almost 10 years old now and I have been a PowerSeller/Top Rated Seller for all these years and it may come to the decision to just give it up on eBay and not have to worry about what they are going to scam me with to remove my TRS. My products will still sell and be competitive in price. But I am starting to think more of improving my web site and not have to worry about what eBay is up to to figure out how to pull my TRS! :) I have much better things to do than read seller updates when they brew up new rules to tighten up the ability to do honest business on eBay. There is a simple rule to good business and it is called consistency! eBay has no idea what consistency is as the rules change every few months and force us to change the way we sell things to fit :THEIR AGENDA"! :)I'll say it again.......WHO OWNS MY BUSINESS???

If the same thing happened on another site would be no big deal, but not on eBay. One opened case can make the difference in visibility, sales, and fees. Finally getting back to top rated seller before the August 20th deadline and then getting hammered with last minute defects is enough to give someone a heart attack. I may have to quit for my health. And like most people on here, many of the defects within the past 12 months were not actually defective transactions. I canceled sales at the buyer's request and got 6 defects which - of course - could not be removed. And this happened to occur in December of last year so it will take months for them to drop off.Most people would not bother to return a $2.50 DVD. Wouldn't the shipping cost more than the refund itself? In any case, I don't understand why the buyer would continue to purchase items from me if they weren't satisfied. She was buying something every week so I'm guessing she is a friend of a competitor. EBay said they could not descore the defects because they were low DSR's hidden in positive feedback and positive feedback cannot be removed. I sent a report to the black hole of safety / security department. There is no way to speak with them directly, but I doubt anything will be done because they look at a user's history when determining whether the ratings were malicious. If a person joins eBay to purchase your items there is no history.

I hope you take a ANOTHER whack at Customer Service over this situation.  I can't cite chapter and verse, but we SELLERS are SUPPOSED to be protected from multiple Negatives / Neutrals / Low DSRs from SINGLE buyer.  Your example certainly DOES sound like this eBay Seller Protection should kick in and at the WORST change all this into ONE defect.. not MANY defects.  That whole thing of ONLY having left feedback for YOU all by itself looks suspicious. This won't SOUND connected, but stick with me.   I enjoyed the series MONK, but from time to time it would strike me that his OCD-detective persona was only LIKEABLE / TOLERABLE because he was a HAPPY OCD.  Your tormentor sounds to be either someone you know in real life.... or the FLIP SIDE of Adrian Monk who picked you out of thin air..... OR had weirdly Fixated opinions of what your items should have been, should have been packed, etc.  I had a NUT berate me for NOT putting her DVD TV season of Murder She Wrote in a BOX to ship when instead it went in a Scotch Brand 3M padded mailer... just like 5,000 OTHER shipments I've made.  I also had the MOTHER of an autistic boy want to return a BRAND NEW  $2.50 DVD because ONE WORD that the stock photo showed on the box did NOT appear on the one I had and shipped to her.  The word was SCHOLASTIC  as this particular children's DVD was packed and SOLD by multiple companies Scholastic was only ONE of those companies. She was convinced without TRYING that her son having SEEN and REQUESTED this DVD would have a Melt-Down if he did NOT see that one ONE WORD on the cover.

EXCELLENT choice billfromwi. I shipped international for the first 5 years of my eBay account. Then I stopped shipping abroad and alleviated all the crap from foreign customs refusing my shipments and have to refund an international sale and have to eat shipping both ways on a refused package because their mailman had their hand out upon delivery for duties, taxes, etc.... Don't feel bad about not shipping internationally. Most offshore buyers will scam you one way or another. My eBay ratings skyrocketed after I stopped shipping abroad. And don't forget how many packages USPS will lose in transit and not cover the insurance you paid. Been there/Done that!!! NO MORE!!! :) My business runs smooth now and I don't have to deal with packaging overseas orders and go through all of the paperwork and have to bring to the post office. I did so much with my local post office they gave me my own bay in back where the big trucks pull in and the combo to get the large postal carts to empty my truck into. Please take some TIME and FREE DIGITAL INK to expound on what PROBLEMS / DEFECTS you were "rewarded" with for having been seduced into use Global Shipping Program.  Saying it's awful is one thing... providing DETAILS is what PROBLEMS you experienced will save others from this Wrong-Headed program.   Example:  Did you get SLAMMED by export buyers unhappy at paying such a $premium for shipping yet getting their items more slowly than THEY expected?  Did you have ANY Multiple Quantity or Multiple ITEM purchases ?  Did the buyer get a FAIR SHAKE on what GSP charged them ?  My suspicion is no on the FAIR SHAKE part of that question.  Ramming  every shipment (square PEG) into the (round HOLE) of making every GSP shipment by International Priority Mail just BEGS for TROUBLE. One last question... Did any of your GSP buyers get all bent out of shape after they bought from YOU with GSP then LOOKED further into OTHER eBay sellers NOT in the GSP who would have sold them the SAME item for Same or HIGHER price, but with FAR CHEAPER shipping ?   Did your EXPORT sales explode upward as eBay proclaims.... or did they SUBSIDE as intelligent buyers skipped right over your listings due to the much higher NET price GSP showed them on their own country's eBay site?  I addressed this in other posts, but I have been SLAMMED into GSP even though I have NOT signed up for it.  I looked at eBay.ca  CANADA  eBay.uk  England/U.K.  AND  eBay.de Germany.  OMG doesn't half-way reflect what I found.  Not only did the eBay.uk  show one of my 5 ounce DVDs as ...OVER $30 vs. $10, but ALL of my OPTIONS for 3 different ways to ship were GONE GONE GONE.  I listed as Int First Class, then Priority padded envelope, then EXPRESS International.  EBAY / GSP changed all that.  Their first choice was Priority mail,  their 3rd choice was EXPRESS mail.... it's their SECOND one that was HILARIOUS.  Teensy little FIVE OUNCE standard DVD and the 2nd manner of shipping was.  LARGE FLAT RATE BOX Priority.  This GSP thingie is pure LUNACY.   One of my others ALSO showed LARGE FLAT RATE PRIORITY as a choice.... trouble there is that THE ITEM is TOO BIG TO FIT in a LARGE FLAT RATE BOX.   Can you imagine what an EXPORT buyer will say / do when they DO select that option and get SLAMMED by Pitney-Bowes ( actually ALCATEL out of FRANCE ).
