+sadegh cheldawi My unscientific answer is Yes. I live in S. California, we experienced 105 degrees this Summer and my passion fruit overcame the heat. Passion fruit do like a bit more moisture. When you live in a dry and hot zone, you probably have to water it everyday. Thanks.

We went to plant our passion fruit vine and we found all these thorned and spiked caterpillar, they are red-orange with purple stripes. They are called gulf fritillary ...
We have them and are housing them in our butterfly house to raise them. So
far, we have 2 cocoons. So excited to have some butterflies! You guys need
to really need to chill out though. What is it that makes people act like
cry babies over a little bug? Butterflies are amazing for our planet's
ability to continue producing vegetation.
NOT pests! The passion fruit vine is the host plant for the Gulf Fritillary
butterfly. If you don't want butterflies, don't have the plants that
attract them. Most people LOVE butterflies, so not sure what you're
complaining about.
So if they turn into beautiful butterflies, and don't do too much harm to
the plant, leave them be. The Caterpillar will bring in native birds to eat
them... Also carpenter bees get the pollen and drink the nectar!
Many people specifically BUY plants in the passiflora family to ATTRACT
butterflies. From an egg, they develop into the caterpillars......look at
it as a stage. You will be rewarded with beautiful butterflies! >i
