Interesting as my idle began to get rough and my vacuum was a off. I just
replaced my PCV valve at 29,400 miles. The auto parts place near my home
had the Purolator. Fram P/N FV266 Purolator P/N PV1033 TRed_PA
Just worked on mine. Huge warning.. The PCV valve might have been over
gooped with sealant at the factory. If it is, you will try and turn the PCV
valve (has a hex design) and it is screwed into a Brass fitting that is
basically secured into the plastic of the valve cover. Once you turn it,
the whole thing strips out of the valve cover! The design should have put
a hex on the brass fitting as well, so you could put a wrench on that, and
a wrench on the PCV valve. Mine is now ruined.
+EARLY CUYLER that's what it was. :-). Great place for parts.Yeah, lived in idaho most of my life. Not too bad, but nothing exciting. I live in post falls. About 6 miles from a tourist town called Coeur d Alene. Beautiful up here.Never been to Utah. Sorry about the losses.Best of everything man. :-)
+Jeff Gilleran the company was four green, they deal in Korean parts, $65 so i ordered it, will return the other parts if they ship new ones....so you're in Idaho, i have all my family in Utah, great part of the world you live in.....i'm in Boston Ma now but visit Ut every year, last year 3 times...lost 3 uncles....all the best pal
+EARLY CUYLER if you can return the gasket and pcv, I would. Since the valve cover comes with both. Totally surprised me. I even sent them an email and said its not in the description that it literally is complete and ready for install! Unreal price considering. The only thing it doesn't come with is the oil cap.:-) thanks for the reply and no problem with the advice.
+Jeff Gilleran I know the exact company you mean, i think it's $65, i have the gasket and pcv already. thanx for the info and your time...all the best pal....
+EARLY CUYLER I tried to just use silicone and press it back in. It seemed to work.. but after a couple weeks I asked myself.. is it really going to hold up and is it still leaking. Additionally.. even cleaning the valve does not guarantee its not worn. So.. I went on ebay and found a company that sells oem hyundai parts. Got a brand new valve cover with a gasket for 70.00. If you figure a gasket costs about 25.00 and the valve is around 6, its priced really well. I want to say its 4seasons auto or something like that. I had the piece of mind knowing it was all new and no issues would come from it. When you install.. be sure to clean everything on the head where the seal and valve cover mate.. and torque to 6 ft lbs.cross tighten.. and recheck. :-)
That just happened to me, i pushed it back in and so far it's been ok, but when the pcv goes bad, i guess i'm looking for a new valve cover....did you try and do something else......thanx Jeff
2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6 Seafoam
Watch a small smoke show after Seafoaming my Sonata with a 1/3rd of Seafoam after disconnecting the vacuum hose from the brake booster and sucking in ...
Hello friend, SeaFoam is basically a petroleum based cleaner that is
injected through a vacuum line(IE brake booster) which soaks the
valves/pistons and dissolves carbon deposits. Some say it works, some say
it doesn't work. Usually, 1/3rd is put in the gas tank, 1/3rd in the oil,
and 1/3rd through the vacuum intake. Watch this /watch?v=DjXViwb97qc of
