yeah, I bought an 09 corolla xrs last year and still I was very disappointed, slow, not very luxury, and ride wasin't that great... I had the xrs for 3 months and I switched to another car.

i have a 96 corolla base 230,000(smaller engine) that can do 110mph so i know this is real because this guys corolla has 25 more horses and a better transmission then mine

hey i have a 96 corolla and when i bought it well it was all stock i hit over 110 faster then this and mine is the base 1.6 L engine lol and now i threw a racing jdm exhaust and its much faster i have beat'n a audi 1.8 turbo lol and i have keept up with some mitsabishi eclipls to not bad for a little engine with honestly no modz lol

yeah it hit about 102-105,but yeah its pretty quick now with the intake, i beat a mazda 6 awd v6 from a rolling start! i couldent belive it. also i murderd a miata in it it was hillarious he was way behind i slowed down and he finally passed me and he was like i won,but he was like 14 car lengths behind me,lol=)

what is interesting about Toyota is that they run faster than what it says on the speedometer. I am sure this car will go up to 200 Km/h (120mph) beacsue I owend one before and I measured it by side by side driving. As this video shows the speed is clearly above 110mph.

Toyota Corolla's in the years between 1993-1997 were awesome looking. The unfortunate thing is that most of them only have the odometer not the tachometer so you don't know what the RPM is. I also like the 2001 Toyota Corolla S really awesome.

2005 pontiac grand am also fwd, just saying instead of a short ram land a Stage 3 in there and you will get an extra 5-7 HP if its installed correctly

I own one of these corollas. It may not be the fastest car, or the best in corners, but it DOES EVERYTHING WELL. The steering is smooth, gearchange is slick, one of the best quality interiors, even better than the new corolla, and the engine is very smooth. If only the next generation auris is like this, because the current generation has quite a cheap interior and doesnt drive as well as this corolla. I have a Corolla 1.6 sr (E12 HATCHBACK) in electric blue, and it looks stunning.

What are you talking about is a cheap family car. I am using a 2006 Sol too. I know my car very well and tested its limits. It's an ok car, an average one. 220 km/h could be done only with a little downwards incline. I don't advise you to do it often, because corolla is not safe at high speeds. If you are a reasonable man, and if it's not your first car, you should have noticed it. You are not using an Audi, don't be funny!!!

Actually this Corolla was one of the best hatchbacks around at its time. It was by far the most efficient 1.6 petrol, and also had good safety ratings, not to mention that it was britians most reliable car. 2 cars had minor faults out of 1000. EXCELLENT when you compare it to some alfa romeos, and renaults which had 900+ out of 1000 cars.

I'm sure this is the 1.6 3zz egine. You know why? a 1.4 could not run such speed and the 1.6 egine of an avensis uses an different gearbox. That's why the rev's don't match. Think futher than just the the egine dude....

Yeah I have one too and 1.8 and it goes to 185 kmh. It must be that he has smaller tires than the standard ones ore something, since speed is measured by the amount of spins a wheel does in a certain amount of time.

That is not the 1.6 corolla... i'm sure that this is the 1.4 corolla. the toyota avensis 1.6, which has the same 1.6 engine as the corolla, does 200 in 5800 rpm.
