Jc. After seeing your videos, I was excited about how cheap it is to live in Thailand, and the prospect of possibly moving there, until I looked up information on visas and the requirements needed. Apparantly you need to have 800,000baht in the bank. Is there any possibility of me staying long term there with just my pension? as Australia has now become one of the most expensive countries to live in, so the pension never seems to be enough here.

Great info, thanks again JC. About the water and the external water tank? Is the water provided by the city? Or do you have to purchase water from an external supplier, and they fill the external water tank? What is the potable water situation like? Is the water good from city sources? Or do you need bottled water? Didn't think to ask about that before now? What's the info on potable water in CM? Thank you.

Hi all. I've got a question for JC. I am a single pensioner in Australia, and I am very interested in moving to Thailand. I've been watching JC's videos, and am very interested in maybe renting a house in Chang Mai. My question is- Could a single woman reside there just as safely and comfortable as a man,(or, anyone else for that matter) ? My email address [email protected]

This is a very detailed question to answer. This type of information is answered in more detail in the membership site along with other things one needs to know to consider whether it is a viable option. But you need a total for a retirement extension of 800,000 which can be income or income combined with a bank deposit as well. And yes many single women live there with no problems.

JC, recently Hua Hin has been mentioned to me. All I know so far is that there is supposed to be a community of ex-pats there, and it's near the coast. I'm sure you have you're itinery planned, maybe you already have Hua Hin in your plans? Or not? Any addtional mention, positive or negative, if possible (?) would be appreciated - thanks!

Hey JC, guess what? My adrenalin is charged again, lol. After chatting to the girl at the Thai consulate, I was told there is a way I can stay in Thailand long term without having to do the retirement visa, or have a fat bank account. So here I come, lol. I hope I get a chance to meet you one day. Thanks for your help. PK.

Excellent video you have it all so well covered. I spent 3 months in CM and loved every minute. I hope one day I can find a way of spending more time there and get out of being locked into the tread mill type of existence here in the UK. I look forward to your videos. Keep up the great work. Love that house, especially the large yard, with all the fruit trees. The surrounding area looks quiet and charming. If it was flooded by the Ping River, how far is it from the center of Chiang Mai? How difficult is it to find a house like that at that price or were they just lucky?

I have no idea who you are or what your sub-lease is. Sorry. Please PM me privately with more information and maybe I can help. All my videos I have made about rentals ARE on the channel already.

yeah - could live there no problems - quiet - clean - simple - plenty of space and just fill it with what you want- much better than a room only for the same price - sold i will take it

@nickinlititz Thanks for the compliments. Another difference is here we have very little horn honking (see my video). The visa options vary with age. Retirement, yes has a minimum income.

@chronicreader For you we will find something!! It takes about ten minutes from the old city to get here. Type in Google maps Holiday Inn Chiang Mai and you will see about where it is.

Hey J.C do you think you can get a better deal than others regarding the price of rent because of your ability to speak the thai language and your over all experience of Thailand?

@fonstock Just a quick response. This fills from the municipal water supply. We dink and cook with bottled water. Cheap!
