It is also worth to mention that many fertility experts (including doctors)
are concerned about the fact that women often are not informed that the
birth control pill and coils act in anti-implantation way for an embryo
already after conception. Despite the hormones’ ability to prevent the
release of eggs, sometimes a “breakthrough ovulation” takes place.
A woman can still conceive a baby (embryo), who because of synthetic
hormones cannot attach to the uterine lining and dies. The pill’s third
mechanism is to change the lining of the endometrium, which creates a
hostile environment for a newly created human life.
The similar and even worse mechanism works in the case of hormonal and
cooper IUDs (coils), where one of the mechanisms incorporates a physical
intrusion to prevent implantation of already conceived a baby (embryo).
Me and my wife use Lady-Comp fertiliy monitor for natural contraception and
very happy of it
All the best
LM
+Lukasz Manczak Sadly the doctors over here don't seem to want the women to be informed about what they are doing to their bodies and when asked they deny all the possible side effects of both IUDs and pills :/ I really felt like they were making me feel bad about choosing to not use either of those options. Also before i first got the IUD they kept telling me that there is no side effects to it, except for slightly more painful periods. Unfortunately that wasn't true. :/
hi, ive been using a natural fertility computer thing called Lady-comp, you
measure your temperature with it every morning and it tracks your cycle for
you, lets you know when it is safe to have sex without contraception etc,
as i wanted to get off of the pill and didn't like the idea of an IUD. it's
a bit pricey but you can get similar things which are cheaper or even track
it yourself, but i like that it does it all for me and learns as it goes so
i don't have to worry about it. i've been using it for about 5 months and i
think my body is still adjusting from being off the pill but i love it. it
feels great to know exactly what is going on with my body naturally, i
recommend it or something similar for sure if you dont want to take pills
or use anything invasive like an IUD. sorry for the long comment, i hope
you read it :) xxx
+Kasia Eats Fruit it has an alarm that wakes you up, you can just do it and go back to sleep! that's what I do :) but i get that it's not for everyone xxx
Hey! I heard lady comps are great! Only if it wasn't the price.. And also I'm unable to stick to any routine so I would be no good at measuring my temperature every morning :P xx
I'm currently going throw this,I've had it for months first doctors told me
to take sti test witch was unsettling for me and my partner for a week but
was all clear then tells me it's an infection after tablets I felt ok for
while then it's came back twice as worst went to see different doctor and
she's got me to do another sti test before remote so another week of this
pain. Just don't know how doctors can tell people coil has no side effects.
+Aleah Taggart They suggested STI in my case as well! But I have been with the same partner for 8 months and before I got the coil we were both tested and all was good. I don't know why they are trying to hide the side effects of it so much.
Hey thanks so much for posting this. I think you brought to light some
crucial information about the function of the cervix being altered when
having in an iud and i really appreciate your honesty. I think I want to
continue working and learning my natural cycle for future birth control
even if it means a period of abstinence while I do that...also learn to
make condoms more enjoyable lol. All the best to you and I hope you make a
full recovery and I think eating vegan is so awesome and shouldn't be
underrated. xo
I notice that a lot too that they absolutely hate being questioned! Whenever i want a doctor to run a test on me i just say that I'm worried becauce I'm vegan haha! Works every time, they give me all the blood tests and everything! :D
HAHA! I had an allergy all over my body and on the legs it came up like little spots and the woman said that it's flea bites. I said it's definitely not flea bites because I've had those before and they look and feel different and this is related to the allergy. She felt her authority being questioned and said ''Well, I've had 20 years experience and those are flea bites''Yeah thanks very much mate I think you have too much experience. Went to two other doctors and obviously they said it's an allergy not flea bites.
+misaberry Most of them seem quite incompetent. The first one I saw about this issue diagnosed me by googling my symptoms and reading an article out to me, which i had read at home before coming in!
I've recently started showing symptoms of PID and I also have an IUD, i've
had mine in for 5 months. I'm going to get it removed ASAP, although i'm
away at the moment and can't get to my gp for another 10 days. I've been
reading about PID causing infertility, apparently infertility affect 1 in
10 women who experience PID, this really really concerns me :/ my symptoms
have only been minor with not too much pain although it still worries me.
+Kasia Eats Fruit Ya know what I really hate is that Dr's don't like to listen to you as if you are stupid and don't know what you are talking about. You have to listen to your body and go w/your gut and not listen to these Dr's b/c they don't always know what they are talking about. And with that being said, I could never insert a foreign object into my body such as the IUD b/c tbh, the shit looks painful.
+Eliza Korkmann I was completely reassured by my doctor when I was getting it that there are absolutely no side effects to IUDs. They seem to purposely deny them for some reason and treat every woman complaining about it like she's insane. Whats going on?!
+Kasia Eats Fruit Grrrr it is so frustrating isn't it! I'm glad you made this video so other girls can educate themselves on potential side effects. I'm definitely going to get mine removed regardless if the Drs try to persuade me otherwise!!
That's terrible!! I hope you're ok. See your doctor as soon as possible. My PID came out of nowhere, literally... What annoys me the most is that my gyn denied that the coil could cause any problems and didn't even report it to anyone that it could have been the cause! That way so many more young women will keep suffering and doctors will keep calling them crazy. :/
I am seriously crying right now... My mom made me get this when I was 14...
I'm 17 now. I've wanted to get this removed the second I got it. I was the
most painful experience of my life, I wasn't even on my period. I have gone
more then 3 years without even knowing how it worked! It's just so nice to
know that I'm not the only one who has struggled with the pain of this, who
actually knows what it's like! My parents think I'm overreacting when I
tell them how bad it hurts and how horrible my periods are. Idk why I keep
delaying getting it removed... I just wish I had more support when it comes
to removing it. Thank you so much for making this video! Now I know that my
feeling about the IUD are actually justified, and I'm not just "over
reacting".
+Jeanna Canatsey My mother had found out that I had had sex and made me. Which was all in all a pretty horrible time apart from getting the IUD. Right after I left my first comment I told my mom that this was the last time I was going to tell her that I want it removed. I called a day or two later and made an appointed to get my IUD removed. Turns out that my IUD HAD BEEN IN MY CERVIX!!! I had had this for THREE YEARS!
yeah, at the time when I got the IUD I wanted to be sterilized and obviously I did not think it was a bad idea to get an IUD. NOWADAYS my understanding has changed and I am grateful for my fertility and glad that I did not get sterilized. I also know that using an IUD is an atrocity since I understand how it affects the body. I did not know how it affected the body beforehand.
You are are so pretty and naturally pretty at that! Thanks for your advice!
I have tried multiple times though and it hurts to pull it, I get central
uterine pressure and mild cramping.. I was afraid of embedment; however,
after hearing you say it was painful for you and you're obviously well,
I've decided to try again and that maybe in fact, it ISN'T embedded. I sure
hope not.. Ugh. I hate this iud, I'm ready to get it out.
thank you for watching my video and having interest in empowering yourself. it does hurt to pull it--remember you cannot try to remove it if you are not menstruating (the heaviest time of your cycle is best because your cervix is the most dilated at that point). embedment is an issue and I can't speak for what it's like to remove any IUD other than the Paraguard. I know they different models do vary slightly in shape and size. please do be careful if you choose to try to remove it and listen to your body. once you start to get it through the cervix you should be able to tell that it's coming out. good luck.
I just cancelled my appointment for insertion tomorrow. The woman asked if
i was still wanting the iud. I siad i had changed my mind about it and she
hung up the phone right after. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
thank you for taking control of your fertility and not handing it over to people who do not value it. it is completely possible to manage your life and prevent untimely pregnancy by monitoring your cycles and mucus.
I just removed it! It was painful coming out. My boyfriend was coaching me
through it, and it took over 15 times to get it out. I am cramping and
bleeding a little. Thank you for your video, you actually caused me to have
confidence to pull it out! You are a beautiful soul, thank you!!
+Cay Nin neem oil inserted vaginally or neam leaf taken orally can help prevent pregnancy. I am sure there are instructions online on how to use it. the oil works as a spermicide.copper can take a long time. it took me many cycles to feel fairly normal; it has been nearly a year and a half and I am starting to feel normal. copper has an antagonistic relationship with zinc and I think that copper IUDs can cause low zinc levels. you might try supplementing with a high quality zinc like zinc picolinate or zinc monomethionine.
Neem leaf inserted vaginally can prevent becoming pregnant? I would like to use these herbs, because I hate birth control that doctors prescribe. Immediately after I told them I took the iud out, they suggested another type of BC, and wouldn't shut up about it. I'm really angry right now, and sad because I don't think the copper is out of my system yet :( Do you know how long it takes to leave the body?
+Cay Nin I am so happy to hear that and to hear that you are telling other women about it. man doctors come up with some crazy ideas, and until we know better we actually listen to them. fertility awareness and herbs have been used for ages. things like neem oil placed intravaginally or neem leaf taken internally or carrot seeds taken internally can be effective adjuncts to pull out/fertility awareness.
I'm 100 percent better. I mean, I did have Ibs before and other problems but I'm not angry, raging, I also don't have night terrors any more or debilitating anxiety. I tell every woman I know what you've said, that it's an atrocity to your womb. It is and after I told a doctor about what I had done, they asked me if I wanted any other form of birth control...ugh. Honestly, I used the pull out method like I always have. I did get pregnant but not with that method, and I've been using it for over 10 years.
That was wicked cool! You made it look so easy! I'm having this done in
August and I feel so much better about it now. Amazing how you can see the
openings to the Fallopian tubes. Is her left one a bit blocked? Or did it
just have some floatees collecting at the tube entrance? I don't know how
you keep your bearings with that camera. I was getting all turned around. I
thought it was especially cool to see what the inside of a vagina looks
like. I've had one of those for 37 years but never seen the inner goods.
Lol. Nice job Doc!
My IUD was stuck somewhere on my cervix, once they finally removed it one
of the copper was missing... will the body will expuls it on its own or
will I need surgery to get it removed?
+benoitbabe "Copper ions destroy biochemical structures with ease — they confound enzyme structures, making them useless. The ions can also bore holes into cell membranes, by interacting with the cells lipid bilayer, spilling the contents of the cell into the surrounding environment.Once a Copper T is in place, copper ions separate from the coiled copper wire and begin to alter the biochemistry around the uterus. "Alter" sounds like a strong and permanent word, but it really isn't. The copper ions leach into uterine fluids and the cervical mucus — when these fluids come in contact with sperm, the copper ions sound the death knell for the squiggly beasts. Copper ions prevent pregnancy by inhibiting the movement of sperm, because the copper-ion-containing fluids are directly toxic to sperm." can you get it removed anytime? or do you have to wait the whole 10 years
thinking of getting this but not sure if I want to wait 10 years to have
kids
I got mine yesterday! My doctor used an MRI to make sure it was inserted in
the most pain-free way possible. It felt like a pap smear for
me! Currently, I feel slight discomfort when I move sometimes but it is
fine! I am happy I did it.
Did your doctor use an MRI? All the videos I have watched never bring it up
so I think it's a game changer for those who feel pain.
I never did have an MRI. I wish I would have for my mental well being! I am always afraid that it's not placed properly since I can't feel my strings myself. My doctor says he easily sees them but I can't find them for the life of me which makes checking on it's placement hard for me.
I'm planning to get mine in a few weeks and I've been doing a lot of
research on the Copper IUD and watching videos (which scares the Hell out
of me!!!!) trying to decide if i'll get it, but after hearing this I
realize most people post their bad experiences, However i'm now focusing on
those who didn't post because everything went so well and After this
encouragement, i'll definitely get mine!
My nurse told me that most of the time, the women who have had bad experiences are more vocal about it, but there are soooooooooooo many success stories and it's actually the most commonly used form of birth control in the world.
The momentary pain of having it inserted was nothing compared to the amazing benefits of being child free for up to 10 years! It is the most accurate form of birth control because there is no room for human error, also no hormones. It was a no brainer for me, but I agree - the other videos on youtube were scary to watch!
Ive been seriously considering this as its the only non hormal
contraception and the pill and injection dont agree with my body but i am
PETRIFIED after watching a few videos like this online :(
argh :(
Thank you for getting back to me! My boyfriend says I should wait a few weeks to a month and see how i feel about it then as I am so scared of the pain ha! I know it will last only a little while but it still makes me squeamish! I think I am definitely going to get it done after watching your video and seeing the positives outweighing the negatives! Yay for hormone free!! :) :)
It has been great. Besides the extra cramping and bleeding, I am absolutely in love with it! Now...I'm not going to pretend like it didn't totally suck..but it was over so quick It hurt, but only for like 30 seconds. You can do it!
After the dilation and the procedure was over, did your cervix go back to
normal or did it feel loose and weird? Sorry if this is a weird question!
Your super brave btw!
They just stretch it open with what looks like a pair of medical pliers. It's only like that for the 30 seconds that they are inserting the IUD. Goes back to normal I would assume, it doesn't feel any different inside of me.
Do it :) And get some pain or anxiety medicine from your doctor before the procedure. It's the most effective form of birth control besides abstinence, I highly recommend.
Hi nintendonerd2011, my friend had the implant and it was giving her terrible headaches, plus still hormonal, so thats a route I don't wanna go again..thanks for the suggestion though :)
