Could this be used to generate power in the future???
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Tate Johnson (StyroniteHD) No, it's using the energy that he put into the system by tilting and spinning the stack to begin with; and eventually it's used up and the stack comes to rest. Because the magnet and glass are very smooth it wastes very little energy overcoming irregularities in the surfaces where they touch.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-e8xe8NieSNY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAADk/Q1MGu5wg05g/photo.jpg?sz=64
you can use that to stir batter for a cake XD
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+EchoPlayz Pvp you can't really use it for anything except stirring your brain. It only has the energy that he put in at the beginning by tilting and spinning the stack.

Put a Coil below and you get eletricity :)

+Tyler Hunt totally
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-N7RjZmoRPj4/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAHaM/7_o6oPe6CwQ/photo.jpg?sz=64
+bob40852 True. I should have expanded on the "nope". The electricity generated from this would be so minute that it would be pointless. Lots of people commenting on this video thinking that this could be some sort of power generation. But the power output would be less than the push of an index finger.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Tyler Hunt actually he's right a moving magnetic field over a coil of wire induces a voltage its how transformers work.
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-N7RjZmoRPj4/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAHaM/7_o6oPe6CwQ/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Geraldo Carezzato nope
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-59YyXLbMmSs/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAMY/nzQe8bnywko/photo.jpg?sz=64
surely this is way more than the original energy you put into the system.
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-N7RjZmoRPj4/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAHaM/7_o6oPe6CwQ/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Grim Reader It's not.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1p2-JWOpCbI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABk/eGsyw0fORiY/photo.jpg?sz=64
That is fascinating there should be a way to use this to generate an electric current and then use that as a kick to restart the process. I think some gravitational potential is being played off against the magnetism to produce such a long period of motion energy.
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-N7RjZmoRPj4/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAHaM/7_o6oPe6CwQ/photo.jpg?sz=64
+ooglebydoogleby actually you are. "use this to generate an electrical current and then use that as a kick to restart the process" <- that would be getting more power out of a closed system than you entered into it.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1p2-JWOpCbI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABk/eGsyw0fORiY/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Tyler Hunt Im not saying there is
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-N7RjZmoRPj4/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAHaM/7_o6oPe6CwQ/photo.jpg?sz=64
+ooglebydoogleby You would get less out of it than the original energy to start it in motion. There's not free energy here.

if you put 10kg of weight on top of upper magnet, how much weight is transferred to the bottom magnet? (if the magnet originally weight 10kg, would it increase to 20kg or less?)
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-hCoC08Mc_O0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAACg/bIKi3QC1P6U/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Edwin Lee apologies, I didn't understand the original question. You are correct in your second description.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+first4magnets® So when you put a magnet on a weight measurement tool, and apply a magnet with opposite pole on the top, I understand that the actual weight of the upper magnet won't affect the needle, but what about the downward force by the upper magnet? will it make the needle move? (my understanding is the magnets pushing off each other and create upward and downward force simultaneously which will add "weight" to the bottom magnet)
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-hCoC08Mc_O0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAACg/bIKi3QC1P6U/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Edwin Lee No physical weight is transferred to the bottom magnet unless they are actually forced together so they are touching. It would take 300kg of weight before the magnets in the video would be forced together.

When do cations say, ''let's ditch the electron''. From repelling and attracting of electrostatic force, should electricity be impossible? It should just be even stronger. Could someone educate me on this?
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+FinzillaPVG Not sure if I am the best person but I know that in a battery for example there is a surplus of electrons on one side and they will do anything to go to the positive side. If there is enough voltage or force they will even jump through air but they like a conductor to do this. (kind of like the squirrel on ice age) If we do not have a load on the electric circuit then we will get a short circuit because they will move so fast that they create heat and possible even a fire. Talking chemistry the closer you are to the corner where Francium is (in the periodic table) the more that the metal will want to ditch the electron to anyone on the other side of the periodic table. The Bully of the periodic table is Fluorine so the closer you get to that corner the more they want electrons to complete the octet in the last shell. That is what all atoms want. So metals want to be positive always so they get ride of the electrons in the last shell (becoming cations) and have an octet and most non metals as they get closer to F want to gain electrons and complete their octet as well. As they gain electrons, they become anions but they are happy :) Talking electricity cathode is the negative side and anode is the positive side. And electrons will flow from the cathode to the anode... confusing terminology.  The electrons in metals are not held like in other atoms, when they bond to each other they have a sea of electrons between them and they move easily. They will transfer heat, or electricity easily. Hope that helps some ;) Gold is an extremely good conductor but also expensive. Copper is good and used to be cheap and Aluminium is not super great but gets the job done and it is light and cheap. Now, ionic boniding like the one in salt NaCl when salt dissociates in water the Na+ separates from the CL- and these electrolytes are good conductors of electricity. Salt that is not dissociated or molten does not conduct electricity because the electrons are happy where they are and will not move easily.

So how would a lightning look like in a vacuum? (Outer Space)
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-_JKIGvjHag8/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAGI/AP3jLREJpDo/photo.jpg?sz=64
+BlackJack Lightning is a plasma. Since plasma is matter, it cannot be in a perfect vacuum. However, in a normal (imperfect) vacuum, it would not look very good. Lightning needs to "jump" through matter. Since there is very little matter in an imperfect vacuum, lightning would be very short and rather unexciting.

What is fire and why does it happen?
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Christian Glasenapp A fire is a redoxi reaction. Meaning something gets oxidized. The heat and light is caused by the electrons getting "excited", moving between atomic orbitals. The reason why not everything is set ablaze instantly when it comes in contact with the oxygen, is because the bonds between oxygen, (or whatever oxidant we are using), and the stuff we want to oxidize (for example carbon) must be broken before a redoxi reaction can occur. And this usually takes lots of energy.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-si5R88NaM6o/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAG8/EjZv1W3vIQ8/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Christian Glasenapp Because technically, oxygen isn't the thing that's burning. It's the fuel that burns, the oxygen is only a requirement for the burning to occur. A fire stops burning when the fuel is depleted, that's why forest fires are hard to stop, because fuel (leaves and wood) is practically everywhere and the amount of oxygen in forests is usually high.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-498VqHyMvxc/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAADqs/Q5A7oyM_ERM/photo.jpg?sz=64
So why doesn't the whole world not catch on fire when it burns oxygen....sorry stupid question?
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-si5R88NaM6o/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAG8/EjZv1W3vIQ8/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Christian Glasenapp Simple, really. Fire is nothing more than the heat and light released when a fuel (i.e. wood) reacts with an oxidant (usually oxygen), so it's basically just the energy released from a simple chemical reaction. This chemical reaction only starts when the fuel is heated to a certain point (ignition point) after which its atoms/molecules say: "Ouuh, we're so excited. Let's react with that oxygen over there."
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-HR9SrPw_9Q4/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAADM/TBCOnvWHob4/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Christian Glasenapp fire is actually O2 or oxygen. (oxyen is a diatomic molecule and always is in pairs like nitrogen and some other elements) The oxygen reaches a boiling point and ignites, thus: fire.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-pu-9QlTTLbY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAADc/Pk1qPfEmQL0/photo.jpg?sz=64
Question: if an atom sheds an electron, wouldn't that make both atoms involved different elements?. How is this different than a chemical reaction?? Thanks!!
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Sacajawea Kinderfoot The atoms arent actually shedding electrons; just sharing them at various lengths.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-G8rYZmHnLDo/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAARE/201icCZp_iA/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Sacajawea Kinderfoot No, it can only make the atom positively or negatively charged. In order to make a different element you will also need to change the amount of protons/neutrons in the atoms core. Chemical reactions are usually just rearranging the the molecules involed in the reaction.
