Mission Raceway 07.16.08 Audi R8 vs. Subaru
Mid-day session with me chasing down the Audi R8 on stock tires... Once he gets some racing tires I am done :(
I downshift because that is the proper way to drive. Heel-toe
downshifting.... staying in gear helps you to slow down the car also it
makes the car stay balanced. If you release the clutch to get back into
gear coming out of the corner you are most likely going to upset the weight
transfer and the car is going to spin out. You are also not driving at your
best.
sweet vid looks like alot of fun. why did you downshift thru 3 gears on the
hairpin once or twice, why not get out of the gear and back in coming out
of the turn, not sure which you were in though. sti's are beasts my s4 has
almost met his match wit these. ...almost. ; )
Your throwing it into fourth early I think! Unless you just don't wanna be
on his ass or something. Also it seemed like they had cones in the best
clipping points to where you could of dropped to 2nd and roll in and out of
the turn...y the hell is that!!!
Was this the matte blue one? I had the matte black M6 that was lined up
to race you when they called it because of the rain. Would have been
awesome race, I ran 145.8198. Good time, and love your car!
No - I think the matte blue R8 V10 Plus was an Alpha Performance car. Mine was the dark grey R8 V10 with black wheels and I only ran in the morning. I saw your car earlier and it looked awesome too.

Cayman S vs Audi R8 / Pacific Raceway, Seattle
Cayman S chases Audio R8 at Pacific Raceway in Seattle. Both cars are stock and running the factory OE street tires. Lap times are approx. 1:44, hitting 130mph ...
Agree, 2nd time at the track and I was coming off 5 years driving only
automatics. The laps were 1:44's on this day, but by the same time next
year (Oct 2009) I was doing 1:37's. That says two things (1) the Cayman
builds a driver and (2) ProFormance runs a great school. My GT3 video shows
a 1:39 from Aug. 2009, by Oct I was putting down 1:37's (still on street
tires). I post that as well when I get a chance.
@amddoggie09834 -- fair enough, I've posted a video showing a 1:37.27 lap
time (should be in my list of videos at the top of the page) -- it's titled
"1:37.27 PIR Lap time Stock Cayman S w/Potenza RE11 Street Radials". I
tried to post a direct link in the comments but YouTube doesn't seem to
allow that. I'll look around and see if I can get a direct link.
So this was a training day then? Looks like fun. I'm thinking of trying to
pick up a '12 Cayman S when I get back to the States in 2015 or so. What's
your impression of it vs. the 911's (996 and up)? Nice driving by the way.
This is a Sony AVCHD Flash memory camcorder. If you are in the market, DO
NOT get a hard drive based camcorder as they will skip from the vibrations
(and in the case of Sony) stop recording.
Porsche was much tighter n the turns.Looked a little down on horse power to
the Audi. I would take either car but I am hoping to get my Porsche very
soon!
GT6 Audi R8 LMS Ultra '12 Replay (Audi Sport Team Phoenix)
Testing this car out due to its hard handling. My objective here was not to get a fast lap but to survive a lap at the nurburgring without crashing or spinning.
