Mr. Tuck likes to portray himself as a moderate, pro-parent, pro-teacher administrator, but in his time at PLAS he was anything but. Mr. Tuck LOVES collaboration when you back his positions but will quickly turn on allies if they disagree with his tactics and positions. I worked as a teacher in a PLAS school for years and was a supporter of both PLAS and Mr. Tuck when they first came to work with our school. However, over time, we were lied to, given lip-service about collaboration that was never real, our parents were disenfranchised and rancor and animosity were far more common than collaboration and respect. If Mr. Tuck says "local control" with "accountability," you can be sure that what he really means is "Be accountable to my ideas, keep your mouth shut and get out of the way." We do NOT need this man leading our schools in California.
